I think I have a way of getting a couple headers like Jim has. Does anyone else want to get a header for their upcoming VE project. I don't know the price but might be able to nail it down next week.
steve-i did not know jim has a fujitsubo header. I have not seen pics of these headers on the forum and couldnt find a decent pic on their webpage, but have heard nothing but good things about them-which leads me to hope that these are good quality headers with mugen type-quality. in which case i am totally interested in owning one for myself for me future ve swap.
can you send me a pic or give me a link for a good pic???
thanks, steve

I can tell you it looks very good. They make two version one cost 60,000 and the other cost 87,000. I am pretty sure Jim's was the 60,000 and that the only difference is that one is polished and the other is not. Here is a link. Click on Super EX, then car in the top right side, then page over using the red button, then click on the one that is for the sr20ve. I tried a direct link but it wouldn't work.
I have a real picture of his car, but don't have a scanner.
I got to thinking about this header..................it's a 4-2-1 right????
well if so, 4-2-1s generally are designed for mid-range power. the header is designed for the lower revving 2.0 ve motor, and not the higher revving 1.6 ve motor. my point is that i will have a 1.6 stroked to 2.0, and i will stil be revving to upearwds of 8K. Im pretty sure this header was designed to make power to 7200 rpm (the sr20ve r/l), thus will i be losing top end power on my future engine?????????????????????????????
or just tell me im wrong and smack the sh*t out of me for thinking too hard!
also, jim, i read in one of the other posts that the 3rd peice of the header has to be modified, or replaced. this is the last peice right? and why?

From what I could tell the power on a VE starts to drop off after 7k rpm's so there really isn't any need to rev past that anyway. I was shifting at 7k rpm's at Mosport and still kept the motor on the higher cams.
Initially I anticipated having to modify the thrid piece of the header to make it fit but much to my surprize it bolted right on. I wouldn't have guessed the P11 and B13/B14 have the same exhaust dimensions but they do.
I got your PM but what I need is your email address to send some pictures, not your user name.

In theory you are not wrong. But that does not in any way mean that the 4-2-1 will perform poorly on the VE with the sr16 cams. It was designed for the SR20VE and for 7200rpm, it will be a major upgrade over the oem piece. Your other options are to find a used AEBS (?) header for a DE. Bigtom has this and gets good results, or get a custom header made for $1000.
The sr20VE with sr16 cams will have a power peak in the 7500-7700 rpm range. The bigger 16 cams in the bigger 20 engine de-cams it a bit.
Jim, thanks for all the great pics!!! That header looks absolutely gorgeous! I may still look into having a custom 4-1 header fabricated if Andreas wants to do it.
