Mover's dollys - $9.99 at lowes. SR20's fit perfect (the half sized ones, not full sized).

I was going to use double thick cardboard and pull like a sled but had the carts lying around. I'm unorthodox to say the least.

Lesson learned....

Never ever ever use tow straps on a motor....

I learned that the hard way this morning, I had all the motor mounts unbolted and the weight of the motor snapped the tow strap sending the motor crashing down and destroying a lot of sh*t in the process... Please for the love of God, go buy some chains the next time you do this... I can't emphasize this enough...

Cheers-
Erich

That how I do it. 1st I put the crossmember onto the motor and trans and put it on the card board. Push it up under then up into the car.

Ouch. Sorry to hear that. I used a 1000lbs rated Kevlar strap and made sure there were no rough surfaces touching it. Chains are a safer bet though, no doubt.

Connector Hork.

This was a bit of a pain because Nissan or Hitachi, whatever, decided to solder the screws holding the IC to the ECU frame.

You can see the 6 screws here.

Desoldered the pins for the connector.

I was able to remove one screw without cutting the head off but it took way too long so I just cut them all.

5 srews looked like this when the IC was removed.

I sucked some solder off the top of this screw and applied heat as I turned it out. This was not worth the time when you have Dremel skills.

ECU connector removed to be used as an adapter to the B14 harness.

IC can be reused if needed.

Doing some wiring today, thought I'd post a couple of pics.

A pretty flower.

The Zen of soldering.

Called JWT today. They received my ECU on 8/17 but haven't put on the bench yet.

They said they'd try to expidite it, man what a drag, not exactly 2-3 weeks turn around. Oh well, I guess that's how things go.

They took 6 weeks to have mine done. I had to have them ship it via FedEx express to have it in time for a local time trial event. It was still worth the wait, however.

I wish it was only for a race, this is my DD. I'm sure it will be done right, it's just unfortunate that a quoted time isn't honored. Sure there about the only show in town, but...

Sweet. This weekend I'll be replacing the water pump, connecting the engine harness, making the new fuel hoses, water hoses and adapting connectors for fuel injectors, MAF and a few others. This should take care of everything except connecting the ECU since I haven't received it yet. I'm making a B15 to B14 adapter so I should be able to drop the ECU right in as soon as it arrives.

I parked outside of my dad's garage, it's packed full of tools so I couldn't get inside.

If you have some time the weekend that'd be great, I'm a bit in the dark as far as where some of the vacuum and water line should go. I should be able to figure it out but haven't worked with the VE yet would appreciate the help.

Calum ftw - he's one man and pumps them out faster than JWT. And he's been doing a LOT of volume lately.
