I bet if I took it to a dealer for an oil change or something all they'd notice is the header.

Kept the EGR temp sensor in the header but the ECU delete should work. I'll have to make a plug for the plug.

So lets here some reviews, how do you like it? Does the RPM gauge work? Total sleeper

btw, i would love to see a video of it running through the gears!

I can't seem to get the Flux Capacitor to kick in, it's not because I can't hit 88 MPH though I can assure you of that.

As soon as the VVL solenoids are hooked up I'll shoot some video.

As for the over-all. Total sleeper is right, I even left the SE 2.0 badge on the back for now. Everything works, all gauges, A/C actually works better, OBDII port, alarm. The alarm light is on constantly while the engine is running, assuming that the immobilizer is no longer working and thinks the car has been stolen. It drives like a champ. Even without the VVL kicking in it out performs the old DE, and this with the TPS still needing to be dialed in from losing about 2V up top.

I can't wait to get the JWT ECU with the old timing maps in this week and get the cams popping next week. This car is so fun already.

I'm glad it's working out. The sleeper look is fun to have. Seeing people's faces when you keep up with their high end cars in your "stock" SE is priceless

Sorry about not being able to help you out in a timely manner for the MAF connections, but I've been very busy in the last two weeks, because I changed jobs.

What's the matter with your JWT maps? Were you getting the timing hesitation issue between 2k and 3k RPM?

Actually, I may need your help now

How did you get the OBD2 port to work? That's the only thing that is not working for me right now.

No big problems with the current (newer) JWT ECU. Just a little weak down low, feels like it could have a little more punch. The OBDII required just one pin to get it working. I'll take a look at my notes at home tonight.

Thanks

I was just wondering about the ECU because mine seems to have lost power on the low end too when compared to when I was runing a stock B14 ECU + AFC Neo. It's just an irritant for daily driving, however, because it only appears at low RPM, which is basically not used on the track. I guess I'll be putting it on the dyno early next year, before the racing season starts...

I have an older JWT ECU with the original timing maps coming this week and Calum is having one of his sent as well. Well see what the differences are between them.

I advanced my timing to 19 degrees for now and that helped a lot with this ECU. Since I'm not popping cams yet I'm not worried about the high end loss from the advancing.

This is based off of JGY's somewhat non-descriptive map, though very useful. I've added for OBDII and EVAP purge control.

I will make a more detailed map for those to come. 058 to 115 is what you are looking for. The other pins for the OBDII connector were already connected in JGY's map.

Hmm... I had done exactly that, and my reader/scan tool still doesn't work. I wonder if it's the reader that broke. I'll have to try it out with another reader, I guess.

Thanks for the info.

Installed the MSD 8969 so that makes a complete swap.

Backed the timing off to just over 15 degrees too.

Wow, that looks so fresh and so clean! So how do you like the new motor? Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? Lets see some more pics!!!!!

I'm digging it a lot. I think the ECU could be refined but it's a pretty good base tune over all. I'm working on a TPS voltage issue but that's not causing me much hassle at the moment.

I have an SSAC header with 2.5" midpipe and HKS catback that was supposed to be about 2 3/8" but the mandrel bends actually reduce a little more than that. I put a 24"x4" Magnaflow resonator in there too but kept the HKS mini resonator. Sounds good but it is a little too boomy until 4k RPM. After that it gets a nice almost quiet roar. I want to have a nice 2.5" cat back with a G35 or some other twin loop style muffler to reduce the boom a bit.

It is fast and quick.

Yeah, I've actually measured my HKS exhaust with proper tools, and it measured just over 2 1/8 right after the resonator.

Glad you're enjoying the VE

3/8" is .375, just a rough measurement for the standard folks here.

Though at the bends it is much closer to 2", it's not 2.36" all the way through.

The way they advertise on their site it sounds like the whole thing is stainless though the pipes are painted. can't see that they're stainless or not but why do you need to paint st
