All New Stupid Question!!

What is the cost/feasability of trying to modify the SR20DE head to VE status. Is it even possible? Is the VE head that different from the 2000 2.0 DE head?

WHAT dealer do you go to?!?! I have been seeing that it is nearly impossible to get just a VE head. Perhaps even more difficult than obtaining a complete VE motor. I know that with some machining the VE head will bolt right up to the DE and provide 10:8:1 compression, which is damn close to VE compression. Although, I still like the SR16VE with SR20DE internals idea to stroke to 2.0L and still have the SR16 cams

its just another part you have to order. its expensive and you have to wait a long time for it to arrive. depending on the parts you buy a fully loaded head new could cost as much as the engine itself used. i figured you people knew you can order one new from japan. i think the cost is about 6-7k.

Umm, you could still use the SR16 cams in the VE head on a DE block.

taken in good spirit jon.

yes you can still use the sr16 cams in a ve head on the de block.

but like andreas said the best block is the 2k roller cam stlye. its the most similar to the ve.

which makes my current block just right

What is est. cost of just a VE head including machining, install? If it's close to the cost of a SR16VE complete, why would you even bother?

it might be cheaper to get just the head used but that would be kinda hard to do.
