Bigtom is going to be building a nice sr20ve and I would assume this would be high on his list of things to do. It really isn't going to vary too much from other engines. Just need to smooth the flow of air without losing velocity. Concept is the same on every engine; it’s the execution that varies because of the unique nature of every engine. I here the VE head is pretty good stock. I would be curios to know how much quench(sp?) area it has compared to the DE. Of course that is beyond the typical port and polish type of work. On a stock engine I would quess about 8 hp or so.

the intake port on a ve are massive, but the exhaust ports are smaller than a de. i suspect that it could make a big difference with a port/polish. do you know what happens when you port out the little ports on a B16 head....whoa! if someone gets to it before me let me know.

yeah. i'm sure a good 5 angle valve job would go a long way on such a monster motor as the SR20VE
