DET vs VE

I have a 99' P11 (Infiniti G20t) automatic, and I am looking to swap the tranny and get either a SR20DET engine or the SR20VE...what steps should I take, and how much is it gonna cost. Can it be done? Where can I get it done? How long will it take? I live in las vegas NV. and dont know where to begin. Any help I can get I would appreciate it. I have been told by another member that the VE's are great but limited to what you an do to them. He aslo told me the DET's where great but only limited by your bank account. I found a quote for 4000, wich includes tranny engine ecu and harness with complete work needed to be doen to install does thsi sound about right? Thanks for your time.

Sounds about right for a DET motor and installation. The cost to convert to a manual will likely raise the price a bit but it can be done.

IMHO I'd go DET for the P11.

I would also consider a DET unless you want a track car or autocross car. Then the VE might be the better choice. The added weight of the G20 makes the DET a little more attractive. I would consider adding the NISMO radiator no matter which way you go (nevada=heat). It's a tough choice between the two. The VE is oem in the current JDM G20.
