I think he needs to do a little more to use the S14 long block with the VE head. I think the top of the oil pump needs to come down a little and a extra ear add so you can bolt the pump to the block with all the bolts. I think thats what I saw somewhere for S14 block with VE head.

Ok I remember now where I saw the info. It's in this thread, they used a S14 shortblock for the head swap.

I just wanted to say thanks to Luis for all his help. And to everyone else on SR20 giving us support, thanks as well. At some point I will be posting (probably Luis or my brother) an explanation for everything that has taken place so everyone knows what exactly is going on with the swap so everyone can learn. I know Luis and my bro are at the shop today with my tuner (the PIT stop, Napa, Ca) and have everything figured out and things should be popping off next week. You have no idea how many times I've wanted to throw in the towel. I'm very lucky to know the people I know. My Datsun should be alive shortly.

Like Rus said, we checked out the car yesterday. The VTC oil feed was causing the oil leak. That will be plugged up, we also noticed that the S14 block was missing an oil restrictor on the oil feed passage to the chain tensioner/head. No idea how or when that fell out, but luckily everything was apart so that will be taken care of as well. I checked that FA thread someone posted above, but that was for folks using the VE oil pump and front cover. This car will be using the S14 oil pump and front cover, so he shouldnt have that problem. I'm looking forward to test driving this car in a week or so I snapped some pictures of his VE ITB's..

If you give it a respray can you keep it that color I reckon it looks sweet.
Or flat red would be pretty cool too. I know how you like your flat colors

My guy had to rewire the coil packs. Actually I'm not sure what's going on right now other than that. =] I trust my guy (performance inframe tuning) knows what he's doing so that's that. I get think about it everyday. I promise the day/couple of days after when it's running I will post a start up video and a driving video after it's tuned. Hopefully soon!!
