VVL Inlake cam not switching.

Hey guys, my car was recently off the road for 28 days. Since its been back I've had a feeling that the inlet cam has not been switching to the high lobes.

I just went for a drive and unplugged the solenoid on the right (green plug) and the exhaust cam didn't switch either, it was a completely smooth rev up, ie no cam switching at all. My ECU has been chipped, the cams are programmed to be switching at 4800 and 5200. I have franklin S4 cams too so it would be pretty noticeable when it switches.

Car is a 98 N15 Pulsar VZ-R with a SR20VE

What do you reckon?

Try manually giving power to the solenoid, see if it turns on, if it does, it might be a wiring problem elsewhere.

green plug is exhaust, brown is intake. Verify that u are getting 12V to the solenoid plugs, the ecu switches ground to bring on cams. Run a direct 12 V from the battery and apply to the solenoid terminal (take care not to short it) u should hear a distinct click if the solenoids are operating properly. I have seen these stick before. If it is stuck unscrew the solenoids and use some carb spray and a small screwdriver to free them.

Another thing is oil pressure, there is a screen on the solenoid assembly that can get plugged and so no oil pressure = no cam switch.

Do u have consult? If so check if your coolant temperature is getting above 60 deg C.

Cams will not engage unless engine is warmed up.
