i just bought a full SR20VET engine from a GT X-trail
after doing some reseach and finding out the cam specs im not very happy
the turth is i think its very disappointing
i wont be using the whole engine im going to be removing the cylinder head and bolting it onto a 180sx SR20DET bottom end
the bottom half of the engine is a full built bottom end so i intend on making as much power out of a garrett GT3076r
i want to swap the cams and all the valve tain inside the cylinder head so i can have both the vvl system on the intake as well as the exhaust
i also want the same duration and valve lift as the P12 SR20VE (20V)
could i please give me a list of all the parts which i will need to do this
also if u have part numbers of all the parts each i need that would be great help
I have that same turbo, .63 ar and with the stock sr20ve cams I lose power when both cams are switched on. I lost 12whp peak on 10psi. Before you upgrade the cams, make some good power. The other cams have way too much overlap and you will have to rev really high to make use of them.

I hear the 20v cams are better, but they have even MORE overlap. You will need to dial out a lot of the overlap to make really good power. But keep looking and doing research. Try to find out what works for yourself and keep us posted. There is a lot of r&d that needs to be done still for the VE motors. I am more than happy to share my results with anyone.
i intend on reving the engine hard so that doesnt worry me
after doing some research i want all the P12 primera specs
so im going to need the P12 cams and valve train
if some one can give me the part numbers of all the parts i will need that would be great
ive already sold the turbo but ive still got the manfold
and u can have the manifold for free as long as u come and pick it up urself
im in australia by the way
i want P12 cam's and all the valve train
i want both the VVL working on the intake and exhaust cams with the same duration and valve lift as ther P12 primera
the 20v is pretty rare here as well but ive already got most of the parts because of the half cut
im just not happy with the duration and lift which is why i want to swap all the internal cylinder head parts for P12 item
im not worried about the parts cost me i just need a list of all the parts i need along with part numbers
ive already got a engine and im not gonna buy another one and besides the 20v on ebay is way over in the states
the 20ve and 16ve cams wont work in a 20vet cylinder head
Argh, what makes you think they do not work?
Also, with that turbo you can forget running more than around 25psi with that particular turbo with 20V cams unless you want to be pushing hot airm it will push you right off the edge of the compressor plotted graph unless you want to control boost and bleed it off to 22~25psi before 7000rpm . The VE engines consume a LOT more air than a DE head
