possible sr16ve candid?

hey guys and girls. well, i have found a possible sr16ve for sale at se-r.net. the link is below. $2000 for the motor, "close ratio tranny" which i assume is an N1, and other various components seems kinda low...........has anyone had any transactional experience with the seller?

http://classifieds.se-r.net/ForSale/...d=CE99X99H ZP

I emailed them for info on the condioton/mileage on the motor/tranny and hope to get a reply soon.

if the link doesnt work, just go to se-r.net and type in CE99 in the Ad ID box and go the the "B14 SR16VE VVL".

Yes it comes with the N1 (From what I know). Be sure it is a cable one unless you want to go thru the conversion to hydrolic. I doubt it is the hydro one at that cost though.
N1 --------------------- STD
3.333 %.585 ------- 3.063 %596
1.955 %.683 --------3.063 %.704
1.333 %.733 --------1.286 %.758
.975 %.775 --------.975 %.7753
.756------------------- .756
FD 4.437 --------------???

Take the % after each gear and multiple that time your redline and that will tell you what RPM you will be at after every shift
IE N1 7800RPM 1st goes to 4563RPM into second (7800X.585=4563), Std is 7800X.596=4648RPM. I would not describe this as a close ratio box. The ratios are actually farther apart. The final is much lower and the 1st three gears are lower but slightly farther apart. Someone can check my math and tell me if I am wrong. This is the tranny to have with a sr16ve. It is also a lsd tranny but no stronger then our trannys.

I'm not sure if the tranny in the blue top 16VE is the same as the N1. I personally wouldn't want a close ratio tranny for an everday car especially highway cruising in 5th gear.

That $2000 price the other guy is asking definately isn't anything to get excited about. If I were you I would buy your VVL motor from Andreas Miko. He has sold VVL motors to at least 3 people on the forum and we can all vouch for the quality of the motors and his willingess to help.

Thanks for all your help Chuck and Steve. I think that is what i will do Chuck. I'd rather buy the motor from someone i at least "trust". Although im not saying i trust andreas miko b/c i've never dealt w/ him through a transactional point of view, i trust him b/c he has built a positive reputation upon our aftermarket nissan community and doesn't bullsh*t.

Thanks!

The engine he sold me was very nice and he was helpfull with the install. As more people do it more will be able to help with the swaps that we do.

This is another reason why i want to buy from Andreas, Steve. Im sure if i buy the motor from him he will be more than willing to give any help when needed, and since this being my first car swap i will probably need some eventhough im going through college auto courses this fall.

I can't wait for my time to come!

I have a printout from a brochure off the internet. They are the same numbers andreas gave me when I purchased, and then un-purchased a N1 tranny. The % I got from doing the math I found in a SCC article.
