just wondering if anyone has ever actually tested the fuji header vs a port matched ssac with the 2.5 secondary?

I pulled my 2.5" ssac last weekend to " port match it" as I read on here. Turns out the header is a good bit bigger then the stock ve exhaust ports. I broke out my micrometer and took all measurements. I wrote them on a sticky note to post up, but never did so. Let me try to find it now.

I cant find it and will start yelling at the GF once she gets home. But both vertically and horizontally, the ssac header was about .2" larger then the ve exhaust port. I want to say .18" horizontally and .1-.15" vertically. One thing I did notice a problem was the ssac header-head gasket was too low, over lapping the exhaust port by .15", so I fixed that by pushing up the gasket, while tightening the first header bolts. I'll find the exact numbers or beat the gf for throwing away my 2hrs of work.

I put my money on the 2.5" ssac. The fuji is overrated.

Well the gf ran off this morning with a friend to sleep in a hotel tonight, but beside that, the only problem with ssac is the gaskets. Not just the header to head gasket, but the gasket at the collector was way off. I dont know what gasket you can use to replace that collector gasket.

Waste of money? I heartily disagree. It's a GREAT part for $100. Is the Fuji 7X as good as an SSAC? Nope. Does it make more power? Yup. No doubt, but for the budget minded that just want SOMETHING to put on their VEs to get 'em up and running, it's a good choice.

Can someone take detailed pictures of both headers please, also put up as many specs as you know.

A picture of inside the collector would be nice too. I should be able to tell by looking at them.

The point of this thread isnt what header is best and makes the most power. We all KNOW that the fuji makes more power and is great quality. Cory was just curious as to exactly HOW MUCH there is to gain with the fuji over the 2.5" ssac.

A 2.5" ssac can be had for as little as $70 shipped, where the fuji is $700....

ummm yeah, some of us are a little too budget minded, sorry....

if it made a good 12whp-20whp more than the ssac then it would be worth it, but still...

For $700+ I'll fork over the money for the Freak header and do some tuning.
