First Lift not engaging ???

hi guys,

im having afew problems with my car,

i was running a stock exhuast on it, and everytime you hit the first lift, it seems to have a very flat power range, then the 2nd one kicks in and off she goes again.

i thought if i got a bigger exhaust it'll eliminate that, but no, its still there.

i htink the first cams are kicking in, but it feels really flat, till it hits the 2nd high cam,

so im asking, what should i look out for, ive already taken the solenoids out and checked if the filter was clogged, but it seems fine,

now im thinking theres and electrical problem ??? but im not too sure

i have noticed that sometimes when i stop at the lights, my fuel pump seems to buzz for about 30secs then stops, "striped interior so i can basically hear it" i dunno if its normal as it hummmms and stops everynow and then

so give me some heads up guys
i really hate not having a free revving engine
thanks
dan

I've heard this a few time with several people questioning whether the intake cam is kicking in.
First job is to confirm the activator is working. Simply pop the plug off and touch on a supply and earth wire to the terminals. If it's working, you'll hear it click.
Second job is to confirm the ecu is dropping to earth. There's several ways of doing this, but the easiest is to unplug the activator. Jerry-rig a 12V feed to a bulb inside the car and earth back though the ecu pin. Then take the car for a drive or just rev it. When you hit the switch point, the bulb should light up...

ok today me and a friend had a test driving it around, it seems that the intake cam is switching on, but you can bearly feel it, but u can feel that its switching,

the most upsetting reason is that theres a really big flat spot when the intake cams come in. im not too sure if its the engine, im having thoughts on the cat? as my other car has no car and 2" straight thru zorst, as this one as a cat with 2.5" zorst. reason why im pointing out about the cat is cos *** the intake cams kick in, it creates more pressure, thus making more pressure and the exhaust isnt keeping up till the exhaust cams switch

i really dont know what to do, as i dont want to play around with my car and EFF it up by doing the wrong sh*t to it
