When your car is around 5600rpm or so and when the exhaust changes its tone (angry mean sound), or when you start noticing that you intake is sucking in innocent pedestrians from the sidewalks )

u probably wont hear it in the auto tranny.

if u cant see the rev count (poor video - phone cam) you can listen for it here. Look at the time (bottom right of video) on the vid about the 26th or 27th second u will hear the vvl come in. I set both cams at 5100rpm. This u will realise is Std tranny.

peace

Dont know about auto tranny but in the std tranny you are sure to hear the exhaust cams even if the vvl points are engaged separately.

Peace

Whith the CVT transmission you cant really hear or feel it. The ECU only switches the cams at over 6000RPM and the transmission will constantly changing before you hit that limit. Nissan surely did the engine no favours by linking it to this transmission. You just have to swap it over to a manual!

The CVT trans changes gear in manual mode, if you want it to rev to the redline, put it in manual, and hold the lever against the stop, it wont change to the next gear step, and you can hit the rev limiter if you want. Or just put a manual in it, its better that way.
