Hello

Hope you can help me here..

I am doing a SR20VE swap in my Pulsar N15. While I am at it I thought it was a good idea to put in an uprated clutch..

I found a Exedy HD organic clutch and a PAR Flywheel in Australia that looked good, but the shipping to where i am (Denmark) was over 300AUD so i passed..

Can one of you recommend a good "daily driver" clutch that can be bought in the US that can handle a SR20VE..¨

What about a lighter flywheel is it to recommend with a SR20VE that is going to be driven everyday :)

Best regards
Tim

look on ebay. you got F1 racing clutches, xtd etc. when you go to ebay just put sr20de into the search.. scroll down you'll see different clutches. they will handle a sr20ve. it' s made of kevlar. as for lighter flywheel, get one from jgy 11 pounds is perfect. go to jgycustoms.com. this is what i have on my dd ve in a nx2000

A Fidanza Flywheel

ACT Performance disc with a heavy duty PP: http://www.advancedclutch.com/products/clutchkits.aspx?prod_id=2320#2320

If you plan to use Exedy, please dont buy the 3-pad one. Wont last.

I would stick to the trusted brands, ACT, Clutchmasters, Fidanza etc. Heard the F1 Racing being sold one ebay are good (have know of people using them in Evo's and they hold up). Not sure of the XTD etc.

Peace

I have used many different clutches with my Ve motor (sr16 ve cams etc.) and have had trouble with all of them. Broken springs, noisy, rough engagement and so on. For the most part, all the aftermarket setups that I tried sucked.

Most recently I am using a factory pressure plate and disc (2001 Sentra SE plate and disc) and it has been the best setup of them all. I have about 25,000 kilometres on the clutch assembly and have had no problems whatsoever. Excellent feel, quiet, proper engagement and reliable. I highly recommend the factory setup for a mildly modified VE.

Must agree that most of the aftermarket kits have issues.

I use ACT 6 pad sprung centre with heavy duty pp (2 mths now) and I can hear the springs rattling already. It engages rough and hard on my foot but I have gotten used it it - and loves how it hooks up!

BTW, the b15 and the n15/b14/b13 tranny use the same disc (215mm, 18 spline) and same pp?

ACT HD pressure plate
B15 disc
The flywheel is your choice. I am running a stock one, but the clutch holds just fine. My VE has a 2.5" exhaust, HotShot CAI, and headers.

Why not buy the Australian PAR flywheel by itself and source the clutch from Exedy in Europe? It would save shipping costs as the parcel would be in a different weight category from Australia!

I have JGY..

9 lbs flywheel... Never had any problems

I have JGY 390 lb clutch, but when i got mine it was
a 4 puck design still.. No problems with it either..

Ive had mine in before i went VE, and ive got close to
30K - 35K miles on te clutch total..
only about 8K with the VE

*BUT* I must warn on the clutch i have it dont have
a light pedal.. and there isnt really any in between its
either in or out.. not fun driving in stop and go..

But it Hooks Up like a Hell
Dont really chatter either

The one you looked at would prolly be good 290lbs
