New dyno numbers

I just returned home from the dyno with the latest numbers. The last time I had just added a 2.5" exhaust to replace my HKS and put down 178.0 hp and 140.7 lb-ft. This time I installed a test pipe and put down 183.0 hp and 146.9 lb-ft (SAE corrected, the uncorrected numbers were 193.9/155.6). This was on a Dynojet 248.

Eric, I have a copy of the data files so if you PM me your e-mail address I can send them to you.

My mods are: stock SR20VE, 3" PR CAI, Fujitsubo header, custom "Chase Race" 2.5" exhaust with Magnaflow muffler, 2.5" test pipe, JWT ECU, JUN lightweight flywheel, autocross alignment (-2.5 deg camber, 1/8" toe out).

I have a set of Blue Valve Cover 175 hp SR16VE cams which will give you another 8-10 more WHP. If you are interested I want $400 for them.

Good numbers. Must have been nice and cold for those corrected numbers to be so high.

I've been thinking about getting a set although since I'm burning a bit too much oil I'm thinking I'd like to get my bottom end rebuilt first with your 90mm overbore kit... possibly even buy an SR16VE with your built bottom end and 86mm crank. Let's talk after you get your killer VE motor done.

Sorry I don't have pics. AFAIK, the regular JUN lightweight (10.5 lbs) is solid and the ultra-lightweight (9.5 lbs) has holes drilled at the perimeter.

54.3 deg F, 30.26 in Hg, humidity 53% = SAE correction factor of 0.94

Don't worry. Your numbers are still better!

LOL. That is not the thing.

Those are good numbers. It's just interesting to me that pretty much everyone with the same basic setup is running the same basic numbers within a 3whp of eachother with the same basic setup on the same basic dyno. sr20 cams and I/H/E = about 180whp give or take a little on the dynojet. You are actually ahead of me when I had those cams. Can't wait to see you guys start doing cams and stuff. With a little love and attention I am sure several of you guys engines could hit over 190whp with the same basic setup as mine. I am basically done with the VE. I have started the 240 project and that is were my money is going next. I am convinced the sr16 cams can yield over 190whp with just a little love and care.

Sweet, Nice numbers!

I can't wait to see the dyno graph, to see where your setup makes its power. It makes a few more hp than mine, probably due to the lighter flywheel (mine's about 13lbs) and the fujitsubo header, but otherwise sounds very similar.

You make more hp, but slightly less peak torque (than I did) which leads me to think your header probably allows more top end power, where my HS header gives more mid range power. It could just be the cam switching rpms too though, that did affect my torque peak a little bit, due to how it falls with the cam switching rpms....

I've noticed the Fujitsubo killed some of the low end power, but the car still pulls like mad to 8,000. I haven't dynoed yet, and I'm still using the crossover points that worked best with the HS header. I think the longer primary runners are why the lowend torque went down, but it sure does flow better. I have a copy of his dyno chart, I'll email it to you sometime Justin.

I doubt you lost any low end. My guess is the upper range is soo much better that it just feels that way.

When I swapped my HS3 for the Fujitsubo I still had the HKS exhaust and cat, but I didn't experience any difference on the low end. However, when I swapped the HKS for my 2.5" exhaust I noticed a definite improvement in the low end. Adding a test pipe also yielded a measureable improvement.

I might be dynoing tomorrow, so we'll see then. I really wanted to have more RPM pills before then, but this was a last minute decision.
