VE maf vs. Maxima maf vs. bored DE maf

Is there any power advantage to using one over the other? It would be easier for me to stick with the bored DE maf since I won't have to change to a b14 connector or get a new maf adapter. But if I would gain power by using the VE or Maxima maf then I would switch. I'm asking because I need to tell JWT what maf I want for my ecu program.

Re: VE maf vs. Maxima maf vs. bored DE maf

I'm thinking maybe the Maxima and VE/Pathfinder MAF may have power gains, 75mm(3") maf vs. 54mm. They can also both measure more air. I redrilled my MAF adapter. Just a little info to help.

Re: VE maf vs. Maxima maf vs. bored DE maf

No power gains under 190 hp. around that hp the bigger maf gains 1-3 hp because its more free flowing. The ve maf also good for more HPthan stock sr20.

Re: VE maf vs. Maxima maf vs. bored DE maf

I'm using a VE(Pathfinder) MAF, becuase I got it cheap, my ECU was being programmed, so that saves money, and my DE MAF was bad. If you are getting a JWT ECU, and can get a Pathfinder MAF for cheap, do it. You will also need a bigger coupler for the CAI, and a Maxima MAF adapter from PlaceRacing. Hotshot doesn't make an intake for the Maxima, so they don't have it.

Re: VE maf vs. Maxima maf vs. bored DE maf

I picked up a 96 Maxima maf with pigtail today for $40. I just called JWT to do the chip swap. I need to free up the bored de maf for my se-r so I can upgrade to the 4-bar program

I was going to order one of those cheapo Maxima filters from Ebay that have a maf adapter then comes with them. Anyone gotten one of them before?
