Put your cam switching points here

Just figured it would be convenient if there was a page of all of our switching points on one post. Then we will know what is commonly used and when is the best point.

Intake first then exhaust

mine is at
Intake: 4000
Exhaust 4200

Re: Put your cam switching points here

I am currently switching both of mine together. I have tried 4k all the way to 5k. The car seems to like 4.6 and 4.8 the best although thats just going by my "butt dyno."

4700/5500 - dyno tested

Beast, with a better flowing header than the Gen 5, if I switch mine any lower than it is now, the power falls off after the big cams come on, then jumps back up. Try moving them much higher.

We can take care of that this summer Jason.

One thing to taek into account with cam crossover, is the size of the exhaust, and what cams.

Again, it depends on your exhaust size. My setup is about 98% the same as 98sr20ve's, but with a cat, I have to run a higher crossover point.

Re: Put your cam switching points here

About 4750 / 5150 (dyno tested with stock cat, but free flowing exhaust).
If i run a test pipe i'd have to lower those points by a few hundred rpms.

Re: Put your cam switching points here

4,200/4,800 not dyno tested but I like the response better of the intake kicking in before it revs more smooth till both kick in.

Re: Put your cam switching points here

Thanks for this thread. I've just finished my conversion while running a VE auto computer. ( i'm running a 5 speed manual box though ) So i have a few issues to sort out.

On the dyno mine were at 4200rpm and 6000rpm. So presently, I get 1000rpm of fun lol. This thread is a big help, cheers

btw, with a pod filter and 2 1/2 inch exhaust on the VE manifold, it made 102.1kw. Does that sound about right?
