Re: dyno numbers

Hit the search button man, you'll find heaps of figures out there....limit your search to the VE section only and it shouldn't take long to find what you're after.

Edit: I just did this serach:

http://www.sr20forum.com/search.php?searchid=373171

There is about 6 threads on the first search page with dyno numbers for ya. One is basically asking the same q as yours.

Re: dyno numbers

i just recently helped silverjon put his VE together and it did 204.3whp with tuning from JWT. it has only bolt-on mods. with a few more changes we should get another 15hp easily. 220whp is very close. i will post the dyno chart in a day or so.

Tom, you know if you post this info people are going to want to know at least a little bit of info about what you did. That is far more then most people get wtih the stock VE. What cams? Header? etc? Otherwise its just a annoying tease.

I spoke to John last night and he told me it was a temporary header on the engine right now. Should have something different (and better) in a few weeks.

Hey Lalito

It is different from car to car how much power is lost in drivetrain. But I will guess 20HP

I have Fuji header, SR16VE cams, K&N air intake and EFI engine control management system.

Hey TeamNISSAN,

You will lose much more than 20hp through your drive train, that is not even 10% if you have 240hp at the fly. FWD drivetrain loss will be in the vicinity of 25 - 35%.

There is a guy here in Australia who has just done the conversion, stock VE engine, VE ECU, VE injectors, VE maf and he dynoed (first time) at 102 kW at the wheels. The stock VE makes 187hp at the fly (which is about 140kW IIRC). He would be making *close* to the stock power figure at the moment as he is runing all the standard VE gear, and therefore would be losing something like 35 - 40 kW through his drive train - about 30%.

EDIT- I just had a bit of a looksie - it seems FWD losses are more like 10 - 20% (15% seems to be the generic assumption for FWD drivetrain loss, AWD is about 30%...)

Re: dyno numbers

A drive train loss really shouldn't be a percentage imo. More likely a fixed loss of power.

Re: dyno numbers

No its most definatly not fixed because its not linear. People use % because its fairly close and they don't have to calculate it which can be time consuming.
