bad VE dyno numbers

I made 166.9 HP and 137.9 Torque kinda sucks here are my mods

hotshot gen 5 header port matched, AEM cold air ntake, no cat, 3 inch to 2 1/2 rear section to a 3 inch dual outlet magna flow muffler, fidanza flywheel, ACT hd with 4 puck, SE-R LSD tranny, one msd trigger set at 5k, JWT VE ECU,

I also trapped at like 95 mph in a Ungutted no weight reduction box still in the back G20

Re: bad VE dyno numbers

The only thing me and Eric can thing of is its the AEM cold air intake being its 2.5 and designed for the regular DE.

also found out that the WHP are actually lower like 5-3 hp lower its DIN not SAE

if anyone has any input let me know

Re: bad VE dyno numbers

so you have a 3" test pipe to 2.5" b-pipe to 3" muff?

I'm thinking that bottleneck is what's killing your top end. It looks like you could also set the VVL lower

Re: bad VE dyno numbers

MAF is SE-R, VE injectors, timing at 15 degrees

you guys don't think the intake could cause this?

Re: bad VE dyno numbers

95mph is just about right for a VE with no cams and no weight reduction.

Re: bad VE dyno numbers

That seems a little on the low end of average, but not by much. 170whp seemed to be the norm with hotshot headers and sr20 cams. I should be dynoing sometime this month with almos tthe exact same setup. Ill post for comparison.

Re: bad VE dyno numbers

JWT says 15º with their ECU, which he mentioned he was at above.

I doubt a slight difference in intake piping is gonna unleash a ton of power. It's probably somewhere else in the system. Also, did JWT go that high with the rpms knowing you have SR20VE cams in there?

Also, what sorta dyno do they have over there, is it a standard dynojet?

Re: bad VE dyno numbers

I still dont think anything is wrong. What type of dyno? My guess is its correction factors of some sort. 95mph with a stockish ve is right on the money in many ways.

Re: bad VE dyno numbers

YOu think its the switching points...does the ve increase hp power when the intake and the exhaust cams is set at different points... or just broaden the powerband...
i have the same exact set up but i have a HS intake besides and the exhaust im running 2.25 so i think my ve is chocking right now... so i think im running around the same horse power

Moving the crossover points won't make more peak power, it will just make more mid range power. I agree that his crossover needs to move down. If both cams are being switched at the same time, 4500 looks like the best place.

Whack as in horrible numbers or sh*tty picture or just a sh*tty dyno?

Also Bigtom you've had alot of dyno experience how much HP does the WAI give Vs. the cold air? also AEM is 2.5 inches do think that really has an effect? most VE guys are running WAI 3 inch.
thanks for your help

He did the 163 with VE 333cc injs, DE MAF and DE comp. He had a JWT pop charger and 2.5 inch exhaust thats it.

I think thats what it was
