Tach problems, with Rpm Switch and Standalone

Ok, I got two summit racing RPM Switches (all wired up, and controling the intake and exaust solonoids on my SR220VE in my G20), and my standalone fuel managment (mostly wired up). When both are wired up, my tach dies????

The tach signal I am using is the one that is right off the back of the ecu, as I could not find any information about one on the distributor...

Just curious if any one else has tried to wire up any rpm switch or standalone fuel management or pigy back like an emanage, or safc, and had the same problem, of the tach diing once another device is on that circuit...

Any ideas would be great!!!

Re: Tach problems, with Rpm Switch and Standalone

since the DE dist can be used on the VE, this may help. the DE dist has a 4 wire plug out of the distributor in a shielded cable:

-12v=org/blu or pin 47,109,38....on a b13 USDM DE ecu
-ground=blk or pin 48 on a b13 USDM DE ecu
-cyl pulse trigger=blu or pin 22&30 on a b13 USDM DE ecu
-reference trigger=yellow or pin 40&31 on a b13 USDM DE ecu

what kind of standalone are you using? does it have on/off outputs you can activate the solenoids with?

*edit*
i may have the cyl pulse and reference backwards.....dont remember

Re: Tach problems, with Rpm Switch and Standalone

I am using the DE dist....

I have two summit boxes wired up (one for each solonoid), and the standalone i am using is a MegaSquirt...... I tapped the tach signal that goes from the ecu to the dash.... I can have the summit boxes, and the tach working, or the megasquirt and the tach working, but i cant have all... As soon as i have both the megasquirt and the summit boxes my tach dies..

Terminal 1 on the ECU, W/B, is the ignition signal to the ECU from the distributor in a '99 G20.
