Re: N1 revs to 8700rpm

You can rev a sr20ve to that high but it needs the right parts to do so.Yes the video is a n1 with a mines ecu or some other mod ecu not stock.I say mines because i know they do offer a programn for the n1 with that 9k rev limit.

We have two N1's here in NZ....both look to have the standard computer (not a Mines one at all) but one has a rev cut at 8200rpm (mine damn it!) and the other will rev out to 9000rpm!

My tach works fine.... http://www.e2sr20.com/vids/MOV05464.MPG
I've had it on the dyno...it's still pulling at the 8200rpm cut!....will have to work out a way to get rid of the cut (with out forking out for a Mines ECU!)

Re: N1 revs to 8700rpm

or try this http://www.videolan.org/ .... it should have all the codecs you need... and as a bonus it doesn't install GAIN which is an adware program that installs with divx.

NOPE...I said mine goes to 8200rpm! (check my post above).....but the other N1 here can rev to 9000rpm.
I'm not bouncing off the limiter in that video...it's just a bit of skilled changing right before the red line (skilled..ha ha ha)
I just posted the link to show that the rev counter reads fine! you know these N1's idle at 1100rpm!...that's just cool....sucks the gas for a 1.6ltr though.

nissan ECU's are very consistent and accurate, i would bet that although your tach says 9000, you still are probably turning 8200 rpm. a way to verify this would be, if they were identical cars, to see what MPH it is turning at redline in a certain gear, and compare it to the other car.

then again, you could have some factory freak.

Dude...MY CAR HAS A REV CUT AT 8200rpm..THE OTHER CAR (THAT IS THE OTHER CAR! hope this is simple enough for you to understand) CAN REV OUT TO 9000rpm...but the other N1 seems to be a factory demo car (going by the look of it and amount of boxes ticked on the spec list), so Nissan may have had a play around with the ECU themselves and removed the cuts so they can impress possible buyers and gloat about their 9000rpm rev capabilites.
Please don't reply mentioning how I can rev to 9000rpms..because I have put in my 3 replies before this how mine can't...and how it is another persons who can....please don't make me think you're simple!
