oem manifold?

when you get the ve motor can you use the original ve exhaust manifold? It seems as if everyone that has a ve doesn't use it is there a reason why?

Re: oem manifold?

the sr20ve manifold usually doesnt come with secondary and to me it looks like a aftermarket de header is better.now if you mean the 20v manifold finding one of them is like winning the lottery i think only 1 guy has it and he got it from miko's 20v and for 100$ lucky he got it before people knew what it was worth i offered him 300 and he said no

Re: oem manifold?

the 20V header is the best SR20 header out, period. until Hotshot gets the patent on their new one and starts selling them, at least.

well, unless you count the BTCC headers they had on their P10s and P11s that made over 300 hp NA.

Re: oem manifold?

I have a stock manifold. Had to get a custom secondary fabbed. Looks nice and stock now that I put the heatshield over it. The best part about it is it doesnt crack unlike the hotshot pieces of trash.

Interesting, but the 20v exhaust manifold its not the best sr20 header out IMO.I cant wait till hot shot comes out to dyno vs my header.Wonder how long it will last?.Actually abes header works great, reallyyyy good if someone is smart enough they would use that header on the ve and than me later When 6gen comes ill dyno vs my header another custom set vs,HS vs abes,vs fitu,vs apexi race headers.

Re: oem manifold?

The P11 SR20VE exhaust manifold isn't worth much at all.

the AEBS bottoms out and its primaries are much smaller than the 20V manifold. the merge collector is mediocre compared to the 20V and the secondary is miniature compared to the 20V's 3" secondary.

the HS G6 is better than the 20V header, but i already said that.

the Fujitsobu (sp?) has short primaries, small secondary and a low tech merge collector.

i havent seen teh Apexi race header, it may be better.

Do you mean that you have the 20V header on a DE to which you had to do some custom work for it to function? If so that is awesome for the reasons you said...

I run the Stock SR20VE header. I think it looks just as bad as the DE header lol.
