de maf question

Switching to de maf with de ecu, and greddy mss on my car.

I don't have a cai or anything. Where can I get or what can I use to fit the de maf into the 3" intake rubber tube on my ve.

Anyone running like this would be appreciated,

Eduardo

Re: de maf question

most of us just used our regular DE CAI systerm... it shouldnt be a problem... I have a Hot shot cold air system and if your looking for 3' rubber tube to attach the maf to the cai you can go to any auto part store for that...hopefully this answered your question

Re: de maf question

But the de maf diameter is smaller than 3", don't know exactly what it is, but I need to get that to a 3" tube.

Re: de maf question

Necessity is the mother of invention. I'm just going to wrap electrical tape around the de maf opening 2.5 in. untill it gets to be 3 in. so it will fit on the stock ve intake rubber hose. That should do the trick.

I was just wondering how other people do it. I assume y'll with 3in cai must have some kind of adapter that comes with to fit the de maf.

Re: de maf question

not an adapter... a cut of a big rubber hose that fits universally to the MAF with hose clamps... and the thought of using electrical tape around your intake is bad because it may suck right in the intake and there goes you motor... use your old intake pipe... or you cut that and for it to the MAF and use hose clamps

Re: de maf question

Actually, the way I did it, I couldn't see this stuff coming off and getting sucked into the motor. It's just around a small section of the maf that connects to the hose-- making it 3 in. I've pulled on it with all my strength and can't get it to slide off. I just wrapped and wrapped untill I got 3 inch. And I did it tight. And with the clamp tight around it. Should work pretty well.

Would use my old intake but don't have it anymore. If I attached a piece of rubber hose I think it would be more work at this point than what I just did.

Re: de maf question

Why dont you just find a wrecker with one? electrical tape is fairly dodgy

Re: de maf question

Just call up Hotshot (or any company that sells silicone reducers) and tell them you need the silicone hose sections for the MAF section of a B14. HS CAI has 3" piping, which will get you the necessary pieces to do what you need.

[cough] Get a new/used CAI [/cough]

Re: de maf question

thanks wickedsr20, that's what I was asking in the beginning. What do people with 3" cai do and a de maf. Finally I got the answer. In the meantime the way I have it setup works fine. That tape ain't coming off. Actually its a b13 maf, but that shouldn't matter, cause they sell cai for both.

Thanks,
