Parts Needed For Swap

Im not trying to waste space Ive just noticed a lot of people, even though they say theyve searched, ask questions about which parts to use. I figure, if there's a post at the top of the page for them, they wont be able to miss it, maybe add it to the faq later on too. Please add if I miss anything as Ive never done the swap.

DE ECU:
sr20ve engine
sr20de tranny
sr20de ECU, wiring harness, and MAF
RPM switches or Greddy MSS for VVL activation
*DE distributor for ease of replacement

VE ECU:
sr20ve engine
sr20de tranny
sr20ve ECU, wiring harness, MAF
*DE distributor for ease of replacement

Like I said, Im a noob to this I didnt mean any misinformation I might have given, but please correct me or add something if I forgot, thnx.

* = not needed but comes in handy

Re: Parts Needed For Swap

I thought it was DE wiring harness regardless. Also, you forgot injectors.

DE ECU goes with DE MAF and DE injectors.
VE ECU goes with VE MAF and VE injectors.

And you have to hook up the VVL stuff MSD (or other system) style with either ECU.

Am I right? Beuller?

The VE ecu would do the change over, but it is non-adjustable. Most everyone (that I've read) use a switching technique other than the stock ecu. Also, the VE ecu only plugs into the B13's (OBD I).

Re: Parts Needed For Swap

I have been running the de ecu with the ve injectors and a bored de maf for like 3000 miles now with no problems at all.

I just got my reprogrammed jwt chip yesterday so I'm switching over to a 96 maxima maf.

Re: Parts Needed For Swap

as long as the pinouts for both ecu's g20 and classic b13's are the same, then yes it would work. i have never seen a p10 ecu though.
