Finally

i finally got the damn mss working but not by rpm's yet mine is turning on by tps only so at wot the vvl kicks on i have to adjust my tps wot is at 4.22 it should be closer to 4 but i set intake about .10 lower than the exhaust aand you can definetly hear the difference.i am hoping needmore$ comes down so i can figure how to set it to the rpm's but i am just happy that it works.Oh yea one more thing i had it hooked up to the radio shack relays and couldnt get it to work until i junked them and put the greddy relay box that cam with the mss thats whn it started working.

Re: Finally

I don't see why removing the relays did the trick. The thing from mss is just a little fuse box. I thought the purpose of was to have some grounds to be safe??

mine still isn't working. I spent along time on the phone with Paul, the guy who sent us the translated instructions, and still no luck.

Re: Finally

yea its just a fuse box but thats what it shows in the greddy instructions if something goes wrong a fuse will pop and it wont kill the solenoid

Re: Finally

So the VE ecu wasn't switching the cams soon enough for your requirements?
Do you remember the original revs the cams switched at?

Re: Finally

The ve ecu wasn't switching the cams at all. Whitelightening and I had the same problem. We think it won't work without input the cvt tranny the engine comes with.

The sr16ve will work but the cams switch really late. like 6,000 ish.

I think some people in Malaysia got it to work (sr20ve ecu), but it takes some extra wiring. With the greddy unit you can adjust the changes, like with msd setup, except no one is posting on how too program the unit correctly

Whitelightening, and others tuning in. I tried the thing with the fuse box switched over this morning but still nothing I think. I see the 1, 2 lights flashing on the mss but still no switch as far as I can tell. I saw this with the relays as well. So the mss is sending some kind of signal, but probably not the right one. I'm going to take for a drive soon and play around with the settings,

Re: Finally

IT IS ALIVE!!! got it to work everyone. Whitelightening you were right. Use the fuse!!!!

set the cams way low 1500 rpm so I could here the click over. I'm going to put some tape on those wires and take her for a spin.

Also, I did change one thing that I think made it work. I went from VO- to Vo_ on the settings. At least I think that's what I did,

Anyway will post more later. Right now time to ride Wuhu!

Re: Finally

both rpm and tps. I think that vo_ thing was the trick. I'll play around with it switch to vo- and see if it still works tomorrow or next day, but I don't think it will.

It's a blast by the way. Can't believe I've had car for so long without cam switching. Oh well, live and learn

Re: Finally

the vo_ vo- doesn't make a difference by the way. It was the fuse all the way.

Re: Finally

yea vo_ vo-is to set it by tps if you want it to turn on only at wot you set it vo- say 3.98 if your wot is 4.00 if you want it to come on just by rpm set it vo_ 4.00 so any voltage lower than 4.00 it will come on hope that makes sense

Re: Finally

hey, we just installed one of the mss units today. it wasnt too bad. we engaged the cams by rpm and throttle position. the unit is pretty trick, i think we are going to get one to control nitrous on our drift 240.
