How to:Install MSD 6al

Tools needed:
wire cutters/strippers
soldering Iron
solder
electric tape(i prefer black but you can rice it out if you want )
mounting hardware

MSD set-up:
1 remove the screw that holds the little black circle cover on
cut both wires and replace the cap
insert rpm pill

MSD install:
Heavy Red wire~Battery (+)
Heavy Black wire~Battery(-)
Red Wire~12 ignition source, i used the red/black wire on the the ecu side from the coil plug
Orange wire~ coil (+) red/black on the coil plug
Black~Coil (-) green/yellow wire on coil plug
White wire~green yellow wire ecu side from the coil plug

be sure to solder all connections.

Don't u need a tach adaptor for the MSD? And remove what screw and y? I was planning to installed a MSD but i was told and read on this forums, it only effective for car that runs under boost.

On an NA 92 Nissan NX2000 with MSD6AL

I'm curious if installing a MSD 6AL on a N.A. NX2000 will help it or hurt it as it is driven daily and what do I have to do different than stock??? skeemr

There are several msd ignitions. 6a is w/o rev limiter, 6al has a limiter (the "L"). The digital 6+ also has a limiter, and doesn't require pills as does the 6al. No, they're not going to hurt the car.

What are the advantages of using this on a stock setup? I plan on boosting later on down the road....

Also does the rev limiter not matter if your ecu is programmed to limit the revs?

igition box

I hooked up all the wires according to the diagram yet the box does not function. I heard a rumor about an inline transitor that needs to be removed for the b14 body. Does anyone have any info on this? I will take advice from any 200sx owner.

Nevermind after 2 hours of searching YAHOO(NO THANKS TO THE MSD SITE!!!) I just found out that THE MSD IGNITION BOX CANNOT BE INSTALLED ON THE B14 SR20de motor BECAUSE IT IS A TRANSITOR TYPE COIL DAMM IT!!!. MSD 6al BOX FOR SALE SOON!!!

I really need help!!!!!

Hi this is Benjamin from Mexico! i have a sentra 94 or better now as b13 and i bought a 6al msd, the thing is i'm not a mechanical guy so i get my car to a mexican "mechanic" and he fu*ked my car now it overheat and consumes a lot more of gas so i was wonderin if you'd help me bringing me info about this msd thing because i can let my car down, so please guys help! if you could send me some photos i will be forever grateful.

help!!!! where to put the white wire because the yellow/green on my stock BB ecu is the speed sensor. is it correct to put it there?
