did anyone have any problems with an erratic idle after regrounding? i regrounded the maf to the nut which used to hold the bottom half of the airbox. i dremel'ed the paint off around it before using a bolt/washer to hold down my ground. it was wavering yesterday but today it seems to have gone away...
another question i had from reading this thread was if the resistance reading is supposed to be .09, is that supposed to be with the car off or on? *** with the car off the point i used reads .07 but witht he car on it jumps up a bit to .12
i was going to redo my ground wire set up coming off the battery, would it be ok to try ground the maf on the ground wire set up?
Shouldn't be an issue... Try it ***.. If you run into a issue with that than let us know. If it still doesn't feel right I would ground it some where else.
is this process the same for a p10 (g20) bcause it gets terrible gas mileage.
so if i clean the TB, reground the MAF and possibly change the o2 sensor this will improve my gas mileage? as well as throttle response and accelleration? awesome.... so easy. i wish this forum had a G20 area because i used the link to G20.net and registered and they still wont let me post and its been like 3 days.
great pix and good info folks!!!
ok, i've actually tried to do this a few times to my car, but everytime i have done it, the car stumbles? I have spliced a wire to the ground wire. The original ground wire is still connected to the stock harness. Everytime i touch the new spliced wire to a new ground spot, the car will hesitate and shake. But if i take the wire off from the new ground spot, the car goes back to normal. Any thoughts???
i have just did mine, it was on 13.6mv and now i gettin 3.4mv and feel better reponse i think so:P ill check it on the strip.. thanks any ways great post.......
yeah, i have a new wire spliced from the maf to a new ground point, so if anything happens, it still has the old ground point. but the thing is, with the car running, when i touch the new wire to a different ground point, the engine will stumble and stutter, as if the new point is bad? but like everyone says, reground the maf can only be good, and not make it worse???
no matter where i grounded it i got between 12 and 20 and i just finished grounding it AGAIN and my meter wouldnt read anything and i doubt i got the volts down to 0. oh and my meter has DC V, AC V, mA DC, and BATT. i dont get it right now but hopefully i figure it out soon

SOME TIMES ITS A PAIN IN DA @SS WONDERING IF THAT'S WHAT CAUSING IT!!
Ok so i did this today and was having some trouble , was wondering if you guys could help , after i regrounded the maf , it would still idle as it had before around 1000-1200 , the ground location is right next to the battery tray , do you guys think i have a bad ground ? also when i go to turn on multiple electronics ( lights , heater , hazards) it beings to jump up and down between like 900 and 500 and stumbles like its about to die but when i turn them all off it idles right back at 1000, any ideas to what this might be ?
