Is it necessary to use the NX1600 connector, or could I just move the pins in my 1992 B13 SE-R Connector?
Thanks

I just found this thread--dumb question--this cluster is from a 93 nx1600 correct?

Dosen't the nx have a mechanical spedo cable like the 91-93 ser?

I have a 94 ser with a b15 trans--will this work for me?
Do all the warning lights and other stuff work corectly?

also I was wondering about the spedo being off--do you have larger than stock wheels? that will change the reading on the spedo--all these trucks with the big ass rims have to do something to correct the spedo---just a thought.

91-93 nx 1.6l have all the same digital clusters, and no the 1.6l nx has a digital speed sensor, and yeah it will work with ur b15 trans, but when u go get a nx digital cluster at a junkyard also cut all the wires that hook onto the back of the cluster off of the nx and yea you can make all the lights work correct if wired correctly.

If you look at the picture of the cluster you will see a horse shoe shape above the speed read out, if you look down by the zero you will see a little blue bar lit up, as you accelerate the number of bars increases indicating the rpms, if that makes sense

I got a 92 b13 se-r. That came with a mechanical speed sensor, correct?

If I were to do this I'd need the digital speed sensor for a 1.6L or 2.0L?

Get the speedo sensor from the 1.6 NX the cluster came out of. It will be the most accurate way of doing it.

Giving an old thread new life.

Got me a 91NX 1.6, cluster this weekend, So i am the one behind the power curve here and am now wanting to try this mod. I have a 94 non SE-r with electronic cluster. I am thinking I wont have the speedo problems that some here are having because I have a 1.6. is that correct thinking?
Last summer i did the tachless to tach cluster swap, basically (with help) i just followed the tracks on the back of the cluster to get it working. to do the digi swap am I going to be doing the basically the same thing?

thanks for help, and sorry I am a year behind on this mod.........

Jake

It will work the way you plan for every plug except for the small center one. There is no indication of where all those wires connect to on the back of the cluster. Use my diagram to figure it out. As far as the speedo, you still have a chance for problems. Its best to use the one that went with the digi cluster.

Thanks, I know wire colors are different from year to year, model to model, ran into that issue when I did my Tach cluster swap. As far as the diagram goes, just two questions for right now (if you dont mind) . what is the orientation of the plugs in the diagram (looking down/up, which is top)? A couple of them have the same amount of connectors on them so it doesnt make it "as easy" to figure out what is top and bottom on the actual plug, the ones like 6 plugs one end 4 the other are simple to figure out. And the other question. Coming out of the small connector on the digi, it appears to be a splice? its the orange wire on the diagram. or does it go just from one plug to the other? I do see that the yellow wire is spliced noticed that when on the old connectors i started to remove all the tape.

thanks for the help

On more question.

I havent opend this thing up yet. Do you know if I can swap out the milage with my current cluster. or are the dials easy to set? my last swap i just swapped the whole speedo guage set into the new cluster to keep the milage correct.

and another

Trying to get the wire's out, I know how to open the other connecters to remove the pins, how in the heck do you open the small black connector? that on is eluding me a tad bit.
thanks again

Let me just say, started this morning and am still working on it and have quit for the night. Not going well. Seat belts dont work, turn signals dont work, and a slew of other misc lights and the funny one is, the clock works if the door is closed, open the door and the clock goes out. haha. however the tach works and the speedo is working, not sure how acurate it is, just drove around the block!,, always a plus in there someplace. Is there a light for the milage/odometer?
Hopefully tomorrow will find me fixing the misc lights.

JUST SO YOU KNOW

The speed pinion from a 91 NX1600 WILL NOT fit into a 94 Sentra... Tried the swap today and it will not physically fit into the transmission. Did I do something wrong? Does someone know something different than I? Please let me know?

Thanks
Jake
