I'm guessing you don't have a machine shop, so you would need to take it to one. Boring out basically means they are shaving or machining the inside of the MAF to a larger dimension.

I know that it is just I dind't realize that the GTi-R maf is made of metal, and I guess a 2-peice MAF. My last two SRs had plastic MAFs.

Well I have two options. I have a GTi-R in my 2000 Sentra SE. So I have a GTi-R MAF and a Sentra SE MAF. So I don't know what route to go. I think I am going to say f'it and get a Z32 MAF w/ a Greddy e-Manage Ultimate, and 555 injectors, or MSDs and a fuel rail.

The bored GTi-R MAF is only good for 280 WHP. It doesn't read any more air than an SE-R MAF.

Who is wrong? I assume it's probably Ben.

I have a GTi-R going into a 2000 Sentra SE. Do I have to reprogram the ECU to use the SE (RR SR20) MAF? Or will it work?

I have a simple solution chuck the MAF out and use a MAP. Of course this only works with stand alone systems.
Then only the throttle body is the restriction

The closest I am going to get to that is a GReddy E-Manage Ultimate.

GTIR AFM Clarification

Hi Everyone, Just joined. Been driving/racing a GTIR for 4 years.

The GTIR airflow-meter is not 50mm. Aperture is 36mm. The connections may be 50mm, but it narrows down inside. This is because the hotwire is out of the path of the main aperture. It samples the flow rate through a small hole on the side. This is very different to the Z32 style where the hotwire projects into the centre of the airflow path.

Also, the GTIR AFM is made of aluminium alloy, not plastic - as mentioned back up in this thread.

Good forum. I have never seen log manifolds like that for turbo applications.

Do you know how small 36mm is. That is 1.45 inches or so. A factory GTIR MAF inner bore is 50mm.

We also know it is made out of aluminum otherwize how are you going to bore it out to 54mm.

I have been boring SER and GTIR MAFs for the past 12 years so I know what the inner bore of these MAFs are.

What modifications need to be done to fit a B15 SR20DE MAF to a GTi-R motor? I still have my stock MAF leftover from before the swap.

Do all Nissan MAFs have the same plug on them or would you need a pigtail / rewire for each one?
