Check all of your fuses...the one's inside the engine bay and inside you car. They might all be blown.

other things that might be toast: starter, alternator. these are just guesses. more people will chime in

Hope Nissan is doing a good fixing on your car man. Better put that cat-convertor back on as soon as you get the car back

Great info, but there is one mistake in his writeup. The pistons they claim 8.3:1 off teh gti-r are teh same as the sr20det pistong. Its the combustion chamber that is different. I am also really wondering which sr20 is better too. Cause a lot of discussions on this board say that the low port is better, but he just explained a couple good reasons why he thinks high port engines are better

You should try taking a few minutes and using the great "search" feature this forum has. Your answer can be found there.

Everything is correct!!!

But someone has to take care of updating the info, there are things missing like:

BC Cams 2 and 3 results
JWT currently most used cams are S3 and S4 results
New CAI systems like Injen.

And there is a note that says "Gutting the cat will cause a MIL light on post '95 SE-R’s which is to be avoided come registration time. " FALSE...

At least, I can talk about my 1998 200SX SE-R, I replaced original exhaust system with a SSAC 2.5" header direct piping with OBX Muffler and I have zero MIL after many miles and days aways!!!

Just my 2 cents.

Reviving old thread...in search of more up to date info.

On a 95' 200SX SE-R:

Front pipe (between stock exhaust manifold and cat) is leaking at the flex joint. What's a good replacement, brand wise, for this pipe (I hear borla is a good choice for just replacement, don't know if others make the same pipe)? Also, are the headers mentioned still the best or has someone come up with something better. I'm trying to decide on whether it's worth forking over the extra money vs. just replacing the front pipe.

well you could always buy a header off ebay, for a quick and cheap fix now and shell out some dough later for something else, you can score one from as cheap as 50 bucks to 100 plus, if you hunt around you could get one like i did for less and its pretty good quality, i got one for hmm 46 bucks shipped.

I know the original post and loads of information was back in 2001, but will the same most likely apply to the now year 2012? I mean with technology advances, better oils, parts, and accessories, bolt-ons etc?

Ok so I didnt see anything in here on trans swaps, and yes I have searched. Looking to swap out my trans or 5th gear with something a with a little more speed less RPMs 60MPH at 3k is pretty weak and really is to close to fourth gear. My wifes kia does better lol its my daily driver so I'm not turning it into a beast or some massive hp monster have an AWD car for that just trying to up the mile per gallon ratio in my favor.
