step by step how to install a b13 nx2000 se-r dash

ok i will show u the tools needed as well as the best i can photo step by set possible. i did not opt to take off the steering wheel or the seats which could help with the install, i did take them out of the car at the junk yard because i got this out of a b13 SE model for $35 and i got a perfect condition Air Bag Leather wrap Steering wheel for $6 which ill do a writeup later on about the install of that.

ok first thing first heres my new pretty dash.

[IMG]htt[IMG]http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a233/specalk99/P1000266.jpg

heres my old p.o.s

if you have a nx2000 it works out great, take the t-tops off it will make things more confortable, ive got both a nx2000 and a b13 se-r so ill have to do this soon again in the other car.

the only tools youll need right now a philips and a 10 mm and if you got a door clip removal tool then thats a bonius or u can use a flat head screw driver. i choose the two different for color differences so while im working and showing you pics u can tell the different tool i use

ok in the center console area where the shift boot is at youll need to take that off, u donot have to take the shift knob off i did not and ive got a short shifter, all u do is grab the backside part of it and gentley pull it will pop out and just pull it all the way up

ok next there is a coin tray youll need to grab the back of it and pull it out and set it outside of ur car top side up

ok you now need to take the ash tray out, what u do to take this off is pull it out as far as it will go then push down the metal area, then sit it outside the car

now youll need to take off the radio bezel, this is a little more tricky and ill guide u threw as best as i can.. theres two screws at the top above the radio

ok nows the time to make a bolt and screw holder, i just had a glass i used its ur call

heres the lower screws on the lower part of the radio bezel ( 2 total ) the other one is hidden below the lighter on the LT side

then it should pop off, dont force it but give it a little tug

theres 2 clips on mine but for the sentra se-r theres 3 due to the fog lamps. theres a little button you press and then u can pull it off and dont force it u can mess this up

ok heres the two u have to take off for the lighter, the black one just pulls off, the white one has one of them little clip buttons be carefull the white clip can brake easly

( before )

( after )

now for the ac vents at the top of the radio bezel, now on the RT and LT hand side theres little tabs that hold it in place but ill show u a pic of that as well.

heres the tabs after i took it apart ( again be careful they can brake easly and there on both sides)

ok pull out the ac vents, theres a cable for it on the bottom side, youll need to disconnect it and its just like the throttle cable so its super easy to do but i forgot to take a pic ( oooppps )

ok radio bezel off now time to take screws off, this is the ac controls and theres 4 of them total, 2 of the LT and 2 on the RT, now take them off but leave the AC controls in, they will not be taken out at all.

theres also 2 holding in the coil holder pocket, 1 on the LT and 1 on the RT

then take this screw out and theres on on the RT hand side as well

now its radio time, theres 4 screws holding the radio bracket on, 2 on each side, take them both off

now pull out the cup holder and put it outside of the car

pull out the coin pocket holder and put it outside of the car

now pull the radio out

now on the back of the radio depending on options u got amp, tvs and such, if all u got is a radio then u will have 2 harness clips, both with little buttons u press to pull them apart, and the black intenna wire that u just pull out of the radio unit

ok now all the items are out of the radio bezel area minus the ac controls which id leave it, aka bitch to reinstall

now its time to take out the center lower dash area and this easy to do just collect screws and be happy

theres a little cap that covers the screw on the LT and RT hand side that connects the center lower dash to the Center Console area, pop the cap open, then unscrew it

then on the LT and RT handside youll see a screw on each side unscrew it

now theres usually a clip on this thing on the LT and RT hand side but i never put mine back in but i would have used this tool to take it off with

now to take it apart just pop it open and pull out the rear panel on both sides

this is what it looks like off the car, the other side looks allmost the same and comes off the same way

ok this is what it should look like at this point in time

ok glove box time theres a total off 4 screws you now need to take off.

after the screws are off pull up on the lid and the hendges will pop out of the holes one the LT and RT side, sit the Lid outside of the car now

now theres the upper glove box screws and theres a total of 2 of them, one on the LT and one on the RT

now youll need to take the Glove Box Lid Latch off, theres a total of 2 and youll need to make sure u remember how it sits so u can install it back corectly

now to the lower glove box screws, theres a total of 2 one on the LT hand side and one on the RT

then just pull on the box and it will pop off and this is what you should have

ok now theres a 10 mm bolt that needs to come off, this holds the Lower RT side of the Dash, its a main Bolt so keep it. the last pic i posted shows wheres its at better but heres a upclose pic, now theres only one on this side of the car

now onto the LT side of the dash take off the fuse box cover, cant figure out how to take off it then youll need to study this entire how to for a year then swap ur dash LOL

it just pulls off, do it and set it outside in the pile of parts

take this screw out its on the Lower LT hand side

Take this screw out its on the lower RT hand side of the steering colum cover

ok see them 2 screws? take them out, there will also be 2 of them on the other side but ill show u a pic for that as well

here ya go

ok now this is what you wanna do, grab ahold of the lower steering colum cover and tug on it lightly and it will pop off be careful you can brake tabs easly

weee its off

o snap this is where you should be at now if ur doing things per my writeup

ok now remember there was that 10mm on the RT side under the Glove box area thats important well theres one under the fuse box thats just as important so take it off and save it

ok now its Cluster Cover Time Weeeeeeeeeeee

take these 2 screws off

and then youll grab ahold of the bezel cover and pull on it lightly, theres harness pluged in, if you got a nx2000 ur fog lamp switch will be pluged in and it brakes easly so pop it out and undo the harness clips pressing the harness buttons

this is a pic of it off notice the harness clips, try to lable them so u can fix them back in the hole when installing the dash

now for the cluster, theres 4 screws that hold it in, 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom

theres the lower ones

ok be gentle but lightly pull the cluster forward, depending on the year ur car is youll have a different thing in the back, if ur digital youll have 3-4 harness clips in the back with the harness clip buttons, if ur mechnical like mine is youll have a speedo sencer cable will unscrews by hand no tools needed, be careful to not damage it

speedo cable

this clip is a bitch but it comes on, just press it on both sides and lightly pull

now sit the cluster in the back seat ya i said it back seat and this is what ur car should look like if ur doing things correctly

ok now we can take off the lower center dash area, it should just lightly pull out, youll need to seperate it from the center console which when u lightly pull on it then it will usually do it on its own

ill show u what i mean and where it needs to be seperated

this stays there dont mess with it, just move it around a little to help urself take out the center lower dash

this is what ur car should look like at this point hopefull LOL

hope u dont have the o crap what did i do to my car feeling because this car is so easy to take apart and put together.

ok next:

behind the cluster area theres a screw that needs to come off and dont forget to put it back it when u install the new dash or else

ok on the top of ur dash on the LT and RT hand side theres little covers, just pop them both off, be careful the tabs for them brake so easly its not even funny

theres a 10 mm screw in there but good luck useing a 10 mm but u can also use a philps and keep the bolt, theres only 2 of them and they only go in these locations

theres a rubber trim in the Door Jam area that needs to come out of the LT and RT Door Jams, this just pulls out, only take out a tiny bit because thats all thats needed

ok just move the Dash around a little, youll need to pull it streight back at first as theres a tab in the center ft that needs to come out, also the LT and RT air Vent Ducks need to come undone

OMG I GOT NO DASH.. he he it seems like it wont come off with the steering wheel on but it will youll have to take it off threw the passenger side and install the new one from the passenger side

old crap dash: uck uck

if you got a new dash youll need to move ur vin tag over, if you got a used one youll have to drill out the old one and drill out ur new one and rivet it in, heres tools needed and pic of vin

ok this is my old vin tag now installed by me on new dash

now out with the old and in with the new, see the difference hell ya

now the install process will start, i will not tell u the entire process because its just the backwards of the process we just did, i will go over a few pointers for yall

lay ur new dash on, so force it in place, remember youll need to connect the LT and RT air Ducks which a baby can do and youll need to align the Center Tab so dont brake that youll just might as well throw out ur dash if you do.

ok ill just give u mostly pics from now its lait and im tired
