Those nubs are the tension to keep the strut tight up top. Read the instructions. This install is just a slight variation of the standard Koni install.

^You'll be much happier once you get the fronts on too. Which did you use? maxima's? also what spring rates did you wind up with?

i am using the spec-v fronts with the b13 housings. i cant put them on yet though because the one housing i got is an aftermarket strut and the wall of the tube are thicker than the oem one so i have to go to pull n save and try to find another oem one. it felt really weird when i put the rears on though like the car was raked up in the rear like an old muscle car because i had the ksports set so low before. i dont remember the rm spring rates off the top of my head but i think they are 325f/250r?

I have the same problem with my new Tokico kit I have installed on the ser
I gotta check the spring rates see how they will match up. Not sure what to do.
Hopefully keep the springs and use them in conjunction with the OEM struts w/ Koni inserts.
By the way have you heard of a spring spacer, I would like to raise the front .50", just a thought.
Ksport 336f/392r with options

Ed

Forgive my ignorance but what are the nubs doing in the second pic? They are not near the top of the cut so are they superfluous? They don't seem to have a function there, unless I'm missing something.

I'm talking about the yellow insert, right above the JBweld.

YOu can normally take some paint off to make the units work any most housings.

That set probably has another set of nubs just below the top that you can't see.
