maybe we should ask this guy tunersolutions on ebay "You are bidding on a SR20DE 5-spd FWD transmission with 20,000 miles. This is out of a 93 Sentra FWD non LSD USDM model for a Sunny GTIR conversion, but we ended up making it all-wheel drive so we used a different transmission. This transmission fits all Nissan Sentra, Infinity G20 and Nissan 200SX. This is your chance to get an extremely low mileage transmission for a great price!! (this is not an LSD transmission)

Thanks and Good Luck!"

key words being ", but we ended up making it all-wheel drive "

My first question is, when was there a '93 SR20DE powered Sentra that
*didn't* come with a factory installed LSD?

Everything else becomes suspect.

2 things.. one.. Whats UP IKE!?

and two... Its sad that just the other day I found out that my Sentra is the only sr20 in America without LSD. I knew that my SEL didnt have it and that b15s did, but what I didnt know was that all the b13s had it as well. This really upset me. lol. Hey, buy that Tranny for me and we can throw it in my SEL.

I was talking to another tech that wqorks in the shop i do and he said that he had seen a rwd converted b13 before he moved from texas and that the guy worked with him that owned ...supposedely all u need is the driveshafts and the rear end out of an old datsun pickup...i'm guessing that they used an already available nissan rwd man. tranny and fabbed the mounts to turn the motor face forward.... but the way he explained it about the cutting the driveshat and the rear end to fit sounded pretty reasonable so i guess the hardest part would be about facing the motor and fabbing some mounts for everything.

how does this thread keep coming back? I've seen it come back at least 4 times and I still haven't seen anything that really makes me think this is terribly feasible.

Maybe when I have inordinate amounts of free time and $$$, I'll try. My roommate is building a Baby Evo (modeled after some guy in Canada) out of a 1992 Mirage and a Talon TSi.

If he can do it with an ugly-ass Mirage, surely he'll be able to give me some assistance with the B13 thing.

Now, someone go and find something useful next time!

Not on the forum much lately since neck injury - we'll be back at it soon, babying the n00bies.

All you had to say was baby evo and I knew exactly what you were talking about. My friend allready had the idea. But no money. Its almost identical to swap with hardly any problems. I thought about this as well, and then getting the ricey EVO aftermarket front end for the mirage, and then Id have my own evo 4 or what ever it is over there. Fun stuff.

the whole rwd thing is feasable, but harder to do when considering to use factory nissan parts for making the rear end... i do plan to make my sentra rwd. the way i planed to do it is to do a mini backhalf tub. this way i can change the rear suspension, use whatever rim/tire sizes i want to use, and use maybe a rearend out of a s13(all depending on on the size of it). then from there, the motor i was planning to use is either a ca18det or a sr20det rwd with the tranny. the next hard part is figuring out the steering
and manking a crossmember to fit from framerail to framerail. im sure everything else wouldnt be very hard to figure out. it just takes time and some good thinking on the toilet.

It is amazing how this thread keeps coming alive. I am going to post pics here for you to see the under side of my N13 and see how it lays out. I have tein coilovers that i had installed on my B13 for a while on the N13 with no issues (RNN14 tein coilover kit). THe rear end is out of an 89 sentra wagon, it is an R160 open rear diff. I suggest running a subaru R160 with modified axles as you can get them with LSD.

the money you will spend going awd in b13 or b14 will cost you the same price of brining over a gtir to the states, and dont say taht woont be as much fun as an awd b chasis.

Sometimes it isn't the money and the fact that you just want to do something man. ALso, it is a bit of a hassle to find and import and register a foreign car that wasn't sold in the US> THe rear assembly out of the sentra wagon was $250, got the whole car for that. THen the pulsar was $750 when the guy bought it. The motor/trans/turbo/electronics stuff was about $2k so he had about $3000 total into it. Then it got the tein coilovers/ad22's and stuff like that extra. But you would pay extra for that in a GTi-R to. So, it is all in the eye of the beholder there.

Okay guys good news i found some guys this sunday at import faceoff in montgomery that are nissan enthusiasts and the master mind behind all there beasts was a guy name brent who works at nissan and does engine swaps and mods in his almost nissan dealer 2 car garage he said that about march they should be doing a awd b13 and he has told me its not that hard ....but .....yeah there's a but.....right now brits and aussies are highly demanding the gti-r"s that he needs to do the swap..and he explained the tech side to and whoa he's the sh*t and it's highly doable...the but is also that he can get the gti-r needed but it would cost about 8,000 u.s. dollars...for a car that will be chopped apart for the drivetrain...well...just thought i'd let everyone know......if anyone knows how to get a gti-r powertrain(preferably he would like to cut the flooring out with the powertrain still attached...and the he's gonna customize it just a little and bam...awd b13...well guys we going the right direction all we need is access to the parts for a decent price ....he would reasonably spend about 2,500 u.s. dollars for the powertrain....because it will still have to be modded and cryo'd shot.p'd and some stronger of his choice gears dropped in ....so help so we can have a manual to go by to recreate these beasts.

AWD would be sweet and all but has anyone tried changing a clutch on one? That alone turned me off it was a pain in the ass just to get the tranny off with the GTI-R motor outside the car let alone in the car. Also your going to have to rework the motor mounts because our crossmember would have to go bye bye for the awd...

The crossmember has to be modified for a turbo or DET anyways.

I agree with sinistersntra91, that's the reason i didn't even go through with it. maybe later down the road i'd do the awd but with the front axels off and capped (rwd)..
