You guys should think about using a Miata rear subframe. On a Miata it attaches at the body with 4 bolts. If you look at this pic you'll see where I highlighted the 4 points with red paint. It looks like all you have to do is some mild cutting to your Nissan, and figure out what shock/strut to use, modifying your front end is a different matter.

That's a damn good idea.

From the looks of it, it will clear the spare tire well with little or no cutting necessary. That would go a long ways towards ditching the strut setup infavor of a wishbone. You would just need to get a shock that fits(cheaper than strut).

Now if you can just figure out how to turn the SR 90* without hacking the firewall and you could have a RWD B13!

^^^What gen. Miata is that from?

It would sit to low and jack the car up REALLY high. That would cause major issues in isntalling the struts. I would stick to a wagon rear end guys, then do a disc brake conversion on it.

GTi-R makes no sense unless you can find one that was in a front end collision and you aren't disassembling a good GTi-R.

This does require more cutting than you imagine. It can be made to sit correctly.

Hey guys nothing is impossible if you have enough cash...also you have to know what you are getting yourself into. If any of you read the article on the MiroEvo in superstreet about three or four months ago...he did a swap of this magnitude to a Mirage and made it work. I am running the G20 and Europe has them as AWD but USDM cars were unfortunately not made with that option so it is virtually impossible for it to be done on P10's and P11's. As for the B body nissans I am a little unfamiliar but believe it could be done as long as you had the time and money and a lot of both :p

An AWD B13 is easier than you think. Here we got the SUNNY GTS ATTESSA, is a JDM B13 with SR18DE and ATESSA AWD system.

The car is cheap, about USD$1000, so, you can buy it and use the parts to get the rear subframe, gearbox, driveshaft, cvjoints, etc, an put it into a FWD B13

Also i must remember you than B13 and N14 are almost the same chassis, so its not so hard... You can improve this GTS B13 with GTiR gearbox and rear LSD.

greets!

It isn't more than I can imagine considering I have an AWD converted FWD car sitting in my garage. I DO know that it is a TON more work than putting a stanza or sentra wagon rear subframe into a B13 or N13 chassis.

Holy sh*t!! Chile is alot closer than Japan, and $1000 USD, damn. You could just buy the whole car, bring it in, swap the vins and chassis #'s for insurance reasons, you viola you have AWD B13. Maybe alittle illegal, but worth it.

My buddies used to get 2wd vins for their AWD DSMs so that insurance blah blah would be cheaper.

So I was thinking about how nice AWD would be and then I thought....

If someone were able to design a kit that would make AWD a bolt on affair, how much would you guys be willing to spend on the kit? If they were reasonably priced how many of you would buy? This is just a question nothing more I dont have anything up my sleeve just an off the wall question.

if it was 100% functional and proved to be reliable id prolly scoop one up as long as it was resonably priced and could handle the sr20 power being thrown at it.
