What wattage of LED would you guys recommend? I'm pretty sure a .5w or a 1w LED is probably overkill, but I haven't tried it so whaddya think?

I really wouldn't bother with wattage, and just order a pre-made 12v set from superbrightleds.com, came to like $11 with shipping. Chump change!

you didn't. 194 is the right ones, just keep your original twist-off harnesses and you're golden.

No removing it from the tranny needed. The speedo cable is roughly equiv to a 6 gauge wire in width, and is all black. If you look up from your floor in the driver's side, you can see it.

Also for the record, I tried Red, green, and blue. Our dash lights come factory blue (even though it shines white), so blue was the only color that came through true. Red looked almost pink, and green...dont even get me started.

Go blue. I went with the WLED 5 LED wedge bulbs from www.superbrightleds.com

This is absolutely perfect. Wish I had seen this before I orderd my reverse glow setup, because this would match the autometer cobalt guages I plan on getting perfectly. Oh well I'm still happy that I ordered them. Can't wait till it gets here.

I just did my '91 SE-R today, there were both 194's and 158's in the panel. The ones burnt out were for the tach, speedo, fuel, and temp - 3 of 4 total.

As described in post #1, I had to extract the bulbs and rewire the sockets, but I used 158's because that was what I found printed on the sockets (and in my cheesy Chilton consumer manual). I soldered them in like the ones I took out, no way did I want those coming loose after doing the speedo cable and the dash lights today. I can see why they charge so much for this...at least the bulbs were cheap.

This is what I did to my Aztec Red '93 SE-R a long while back. I'm going to pull everything back out to paint the bezel again. It bubbled on me, and I'm no longer going to paint the car Bayside Blue. Gonna save that color scheme for a NX2K.

It's gravy to do. Only takes a few minutes to pull out the cluster.

Where do you see this set? I'm still at a loss as to what you're referring to. I see a few different part numbers for the 5mm LEDs, but none of them are 12V LED's. They're all 5V LED's and the wavelengths and focal areas are different, that's all.

EDIT: Holy crap I'm blind. I found what I was looking for.

That's hot. I don't care what anyone says. There's absolutely NOTHING wrong with changing the color of the light on a stock cluster

Guys whats the size of this bulb in the blue fixture in the guys hand?
And is this the bulb that runs the clock? I changed all my cluster bulbs
but the clock is still dim on my 92 B13 SE-R

Also will 93/94 194 Sockets work so I can install the new bulbs.
They are rigged in the current sockets but i dont trust that setup and one already rattle loose and is off.

Thanks in Advance
