Another BOV question.

Hey what's appening? Well, hope everyone had a good start to their new year. But anyways. I was reading on the GTiR owners club website that you can put a atmosphoric BOV on and not have do any adjustments to the air/fuel if you put it before the MAF. Is this true? What is your input. I've been trying to do research on this but not getting to far. Very slow process. Can anyone help?

To do this, you have to have your MAF in "blow through" set up

Do a search, there is lots of info about it.

put the bov before the maf??? That means you would put the maf near the throttle body with all the pressure from the turbo going through the maf, I think it would destroy the maf.

Ehh, wrong. There are many people running blow-thru maf on their setups. One of them is myself and I run atmosphere on my HKS.

Would you have to use a A/F controller to do this?

Nah man, since the MAF is sitting before the BOV, it will get correct readings if you run an atmospheric BOV.

Oh sweet!. Thanks for the help. What would be the downside of running this set-up?

The first thing that came to mind would be that the MAF housing might restrict flow.

Second thing that came to mind is that, if your turbo's oil seal blows, then you're gonna get oil all over the MAF, at which point I don't think it'll be repairable, it'll have to be replaced.
