When I first put my turbo together, and getting the kinks worked out, I drove it with just the downpipe and test pipe. I'd drive 2 blocks over to the industrial park and rip around in there. The shock and awe was a blast.

I was driving through the neighborhood at about 30mph in 2nd gear and the car was so loud that I had some guy yell at me "SLOW DOWN, I HAVE 3 KIDS!!!" Like I was about to run up on his lawn and crash through his fence or something. lol

I've been yelled at while driving 5mph under the speed limit in a residential area .

this was with my exhaust (3" side exit) all connected.

I used to get people telling me to slow down all the time in the SE-R when I was going at or under the speed limit.

Every single time, I would stop and ask them how fast they thought I was going, and I would inform them that I was obeying the speed limit. If it was someone in the neighborhood I had seen before, I would tell them that I've seen them going faster than that.

Idiots.

When I first put on the T25, I didn't have a downpipe at all, just open elbow. That was loud.

Either way, I would recommend against running that way too often, cops are bastards here.

aaaahh soo tempting, i cant decide whether to make a side exit on for my t28 seutp or go with a 3" straight through back to a magnaflow, The only reason I might go with the 3" catback is because I want to drop the car a littlea nd would be scared that a 3" side exit would scrape on a heavy turn.... ahh decidsions decisions.

^^^ I have yet to scrap my side exit... not sure how low you have your car though? It's probably best to go with a full catback if you ever want a women to ride in your car again

I only went side exit due to the fact I'm adding a receiver and will be towing my geat to the track in the near future...

dumb question. but would you gain more hp/tq with just downpipe, or if you have a full 3" exhaust/test pipe its the same?
