I finally manned up and put together a good set of water lines. The old setup was running without water. You can get away with that on a journal bearing turbo as long as you warm up/cool down religiously, but I never really liked it.

The new stuff consists of:
  • Nissport water adapter for the upper radiator hose
  • Nissport-ish adapter for the lower radiator hose
  • 2x 1/8"NPT to -4an fittings
  • 2x -4an 1/4" braided stainless hoses
  • 2x -4an to 1/4"NPT fittings (one 90*, one straight)
  • 2x ATP 14mm 1/4"NPT banjo fittings

I had to modify one of them to clear my compressor outlet. I also ruined one of the fitting in the process (that's why one of them suddenly turned gold).

This is how the banjos look on the center section of the turbo:

Here is the Nissport adapter in place:

The cardboard is there to keep the radiator from getting beat up. It doesn't look like it, but the water line has about 1/2" clearance from the radiator without the cardboard there.

The return side snakes under the turbo behind the motor mount and over to the lower radiator hose:

Everything came back from powder coating looking amazing:

I've always wanted a GTIR valve cover and I finally snagged one and had it coated:

Man that is the cleanest engine bay I have ever seen..

I have only 1 question. What exactly happened with the RR motor for the oil to go like that...was it turbo related or the cams maybe? or Just normal wear and tear or a bearing maybe?

Reason I ask is that I have a B15 with the RR that I will be boosting very soon and this thread is now my new bible...... I'll be running the T25 setup and when you blew the motor it kinda threw me off a little.

Thanks in advance.

Are those banjo fittings for the coolant inlet and outlet from APT turbo? What was the one hitting that you had to cut it down?
