So from what I understand you are saying... this turbo is from a U13 Bluebird, and not a W10...

So, say for example a guy doesn't care either way what turbo comes on it, because he already has a gti-r setup that's going on there... is there any essential difference between the motors, like compression, rod strength, cams, etc?

Not that I know of. The only difference between the motors would be the year it was produced.

I'd also like to add that some people see the Avenir motors as being better treated because they were paired with an automatic transmission which, in theory, would mean fewer high revs and redlines.

Depends on the tuning and how aggressive you try to get the power out of it. 320hp@wheels is a realistic figure but with correct fine tuning, more is achievable without destroying pistons/bearings, etc

I currently have a standard W11 GT4. If you like me to check the numbers, or post pictures of any particular bits just ask

BTW I looked at quite a few, both W10 and W11 before buying this car, and aside from one that had a yellow (lol) cover they were all silver. Definitely no black ones.

Ya, pictures would probably help. That'd be cool if you could post a few.

I just got an engine with a silver valve cover and a 1E001 turbo on it with the outlet facing down. Is it a bluebird? Sorry I am kind of new to the Nissan FWD thing. I am putting this in on Sunday.

According to this thread I have a W10 Avanir I can read. On another site I read that the W10 had a T25 with the outlet facing upward. Mine faces down...so who is right?

Turbos can be clocked in multiple directions. Id stick with what the #'s are telling you.

The reason I ask is because aren't the Avanir and bluebird wastegates set to different boost levels? Sorry man I am new to this Nissan thing, but I have been modding cars for a few days. Seems like there are a million different SR20DET setups.

I used my bluebird actuator ,which was set at about 7psi, on my avenir t25 clocked upwards and the boost is like 14psi! With my ebc I can get it down to 10, but thats about it.

New to the SR20det Game.

Hello all, I go by Tonik21 and I am currently working on 1993 Sentra SE-R.
I've swapped in an avenir sr20det and have all of the intercooler & piping installed. My question is: Can we run the stock SE-R exhaust or do I need to upgrade to HKS or something along those lines? Please bare with me, this is my first forum.

Thanks fellas.
