ACT Street Disc failure!

So ive been driving my boosted daily (Avenir, BC 2 cams, Fidanza and an ACT HDSS) since august for about 4-5k miles so far. So yesturday i was driving and i couldnt put it in gear. So i thought it was my cable. Replaced the cable with a new one and it didnt solve the problem so i took apart the tranny and found out the my ACT street disc's spring fell out. Now my question is why did it break so soon? Should i just replace the disc and keep the PP? Or should i try upgrading to something stronger? Ill try to post pics up ASAP. Help me! Thanks in advance.

I had a spring pop out on my act disc but it was 5 years old at that point. Just get a new disc and you'll be fine. You might want to try contacting ACT and see if they will do anything for you since it was so new.

This failure is nothing unique to your situation. A lot of SR20 clutch discs springs from different companies fail. ACT is not immune. However, I do know that ACT updated the design on their sprung hub discs. I *think* that the newer version's springs are a bit beefier, look more securely seated in the hub, and are painted yellow like their pressure plates. You might want to call ACT and find out. From what I remember, there was a noticeable difference between the older design and the updated one.
