Nice set up! I like to see more people running water to air intercoolers. i am gonna use a 3 gallon fuel cell mounted in the trunk(filled with ice water), and a cool can which will be filled with either ice or dry ice(mounted where the washer flud res. was), i have a 2nd gen rx7 oil cooler for a heat exchanger, its around the size of the hotshot fmic, and an all brass jabsco large pump.

if its a fuel cell, that means it is sealed. DO NOT put dry ice in it, the CO2 will deposition into gas, and blow the thing apart. as spectacular as it will be to look at, i dont think you want that to happen. just stick with regular frozen water if its going into a sealed container.
I just have a stock BlueBird motor, no cams or anything. 50lb msd @ 3bar with a cobra maf. I got 305 at the wheels with that setup WITH A CAT!! I think with the new manifold here and the colder charge temps through water to air setup that I can get at least 20-25whp more out of her. I don't have the cat installed anymore either. I am shooting for 350-360whp with no cams or anything.

Oh yeah, I just posted under my brother's name again. I am up at home helping him drop his new motor and T25 setup.

I am not saying put dry ice in the fuel cell, it will be in the cool can which will be used with the fuel cell. The dry ice will not touch the water.

just make sure the container is much larger than the dry ice and that you dont leave it in there too long, or it has a nice slow leak. dry ice is still C02 in solid form, which takes up a LOT less space than gaseous CO2. you can still make things go boom with dry ice, just takes longer. There is no liquid form of CO2, it just depositions directly into gas.
also, are you going to smash it up ahead of time? otherwise, there wont be that much surface area for it to work with. i would say that ice water will have better cooling, especially long term. Water has a greater capacity for heat that CO2, and since its a liquid, it will have more surface area contacting whatever it is you are cooling.

Seriously, stick to ice. "insane imports", wait until you actually have your IC system setup. If you are filling a 3 gallon container with ice, you will have about 20 pounds of ice in that system. You will quickly see there is no need for dry ice anywhere in the system. My intercooler practically gets frosty, I wouldn't dare stick my tongue on it, with only a 1 gallon resevoir (7lbs of ice).
Drove the car yesterday, 5psi is right there and though i didn't have a spotter i think it was around 2800rpm. I didn't take it past that as I didn't have the water to air all working yet.
BUT, i do have a problem. It won't hold an idle, so it stalls out. I think I have a nice vacuum leak somewhere. So I get to take it all out and figure that problem out.

Well, with my car, there is only one pipe, and it is 6" from the IC to the TB. Not real hard to take it out of there. I am pretty sure it is a vacuum line that ran from the IM to the TB pipe that is just laying down in there. I will do a pressure test after that is done. I coudn't believe all the leaks i found the last time!
