*sigh* If I spend money on the SE-R, then I can't spend money on the 350. Argh.
(how's the 350, btw?)
Michael.
Yes, Michael, it's a tough world. One's wants always outstrip one's income by a factor of 3:1. How's it going? I don't go to the my350z site very often as I find it too slow. Plus, it just encourages me to bitch.
Like hundreds of other owners, I have the window grease problem, the rocking driver seat, the noisy thrust bearing, the crappy paint and the bouncy ride. Oh yeah, the car's been sprayed twice with rocks from a trailer, got stuck on a curb/speed bump at least three times and had two ladies (one in a Taurus Wagon and one in a Minivan) hit the car and dent it. I've also had one speeding ticket, my first ever in 20 years of driving. What was funny, was the fact that on the same stretch of road, I would have been doing 20mph more in the NX. All this in only 16,000 miles and one year of ownership. So this car wins the award for the most unlucky car I've owned and a complete contrast to the NX2000.
But, believe it or not, there are actually days when I really enjoy opening it up and it's certainly a great daily driver. At present, the car handles great with the new 'old' tires and I'm actually looking forward to getting back on the track one day soon. The track is about the only place I've had any luck with the car.

You can probably fix the rocking seat (although there's a TSB on it). I noticed one day when I was vacuuming under the driver seat that the rod used to raise / lower front seat height was out of it's hole on the seat frame on the transmission tunnel side. I put that sucker back in and it's been hunky dory since. But I'm expecting it to pop right back out after the next track day.
Do you also have the tire feathering? If you do, then you might want to have your alignment guy dial in a little bit of toe-in and keep an eye on how it wears.

Michael.
Thanks for the tip on the driver seat issue. I had heard about the TSB on the tires, seat and window grease, but, the only one I've followed up so far is the tire feathering. I had an alignment done at 6,000 miles and then switched to Toyos. So far, knock on wood, the Toyos have done an excellent job at resisting (a) the feathering and (b) the noise. I've seen the feathering come and go on the inside, but, the outside feathering has stopped altogether.
The only remaining issue is the inside edge of the right front is now completely bald. I didn't notice it for a while. I suspect I need another alignment. I've hit a lot of pot-holes lately.
You know, if we keep this up, we're going to be kicked off this forum. It's cool though that we both have SR20s and 350Z track models.
Oh man, it sounds like you need to do the compression rod TSB to correct that right tire wear. Anyway, the next time you get an alignment, remember to have the alignment guy dial in a little toe-in.

Compression rod TSB? What in the world is that? Must be fairly new. Any chance I can get a new set of front tires out of NISSAN?
Cameron thats a smoking deal. I hope you got what you where asking for them.
Thanks, they were priced to move on out! And yes, I sold them for what I was asking. Great, great wheels! I just had no use for them any more and I hate to see things just sitting around.
Regards,
Cameron
