Hi all,

New to the forum, but not to forums, with a few questions...

So I tried searching a bit already, but these questions are somewhat time sensitive, so I’m going to ask them here in the meantime while I try searching more and switching keywords around. Hope that’s ok.

I’ve owned quite a few S13 coupes and am now looking to get back into a Nissan. My Silverado just doesn’t make me smile like my old Nissans did.

Within the next month I’m buying a new (to me) car. I’ve been searching for something I like and stumbled upon a Japanese import car dealership that’s only a couple hour drive from me. They import cars 25+ years old and sell them.

Anyways I found a sweet little 1991 Nissan Sunny, 4wd, 5 speed, 4 door. Ridiculously low mileage, 4,500 miles, for a very reasonable price. But, that low of mileage on a 28 year old car means it’s been sitting for a while, but it looks spotless.

My big question is about part interchangeabilty between the USDM Sentra and JDM Sunny. I understand the 4wd side of it will probably be difficult to source parts for, but what about other routine maintenance items? Things like suspension components (bushings, shocks, etc) and other simple things like oil filters.

I’m not going to be modifying this car heavily, but I will definitely be upgrading parts as I replace them. I’ll do small upgrades like wheels/tires, sway bars, poly bushings, strut braces. Like if I buy a bushing kit for a B13 Sentra, will most of them probably work on the Sunny?

Without the car in front of me at the moment I wonder about the transmission. Is it a normal Sentra transmission with a sort of transfer case to the rear or is it a completely different transmission? If so things like upgraded clutch/flywheel would probably be difficult to obtain.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Looking forward to using this site as a good resource for info!

Brandon
