meh

went to the track and launched on the drag radials for the first time. the entire night sucked but i did make one half assed pass
60' ... 2.042 (bogged bigtime)
330 ...5.517
1/8 ... 8.255
mph ... 88.88
1000 ... 10.584
1/4 ... 12.514
mph ... 117.08

blew out the turbo mani gasket on the way to the track. tried to fix it at the track and it blew out again midway through the run. bolts keep backing out but i have a special plan for those asshats
_________________ (update: nord lock washers and top lock nuts keeping the mani and turbo together. think i need to get back to the track and give it another shot. 11's here i come)

stock setups have a little plate with tabs that bend over the bolt heads to stop them from backing out.. not sure if theres a part number floating around for it somewhere.

but u sir with a set of slicks have a nice high 11 second car alllll day.

i just pulled a

1.7 60
11.9 et
113 mph

at 12 pounds of boost on a gti-r setup with a set of s3ms, once i get my launches down ill crank it up

with a better launch and a full 17psi the entire run i have no doubts that the car will hit 11.7-9 @ 120mph

been a while since i updated this but here goes. earlier this year with the same setup and mickey thompson drag radials i hit my best time to date. here's my story:

so for months and months i've been searching for 11's. are a few 12.1's and 12.2's i was gonna give up and wait til i take my piston only motor out and put my fully built motor in. well we had import faceoff and my lil bro talked me into goin. i couldnt get radials mounted in time so i was just gonna run on my **** street tires content to run subpar times. i got to the track and another friend was there with a set of mickey thompsons for me. my first 2 runs sucked @$s 12.5 and 12.4 with 2.0 60' , my next run i lowered tire pressure and ran 12.3. i went back and dropped pressure with a tire gauge this time and got it to 18psi. i went out and did my best john force impersonation and lit the tires up. staged came up on 2 step and bang you could hear and feel the difference in the mickeys. 1.8 60' 12.133 @114.3 mph. i was happy because i beat my previous best of 12.180 but still wondering what i had to do to get in the 11's. i noticed throughout the day that i was only running 15 psi instead of 18 so i turned it up a lil to get my full 18 psi. i also dropped tire pressure again to 16 psi.

1.647 60'
4.828 330'
7.474 1/8
94.31 mph
9.743 1000'
11.650 1/4
118.69 mph

now that i've accomplished my goal of an 11 sec daily driver its on to the next goal of 10.9's. i'll be adding a 100 wet shot of n2o to get the mph i need to do this. also the fully built top to bottom motor is going in before the next ifo (import faceoff) in october. wish me luck.
