I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT ARE THE PROS AND CONS OF RUNNING A SER ECU IN A PULSAR GTI WITH SR18DE ENGINE

SR20DE SER ENGINE WITH 9.5 TO 1 COMPRESSION
SR18DE GTI ENGINE 10 TO 1 COMPRESSION

REASON FOR DOING THIS IS I WANT TO USE A MANUAL ECU SO I WOULD NOT THROW ANY ENGINE CODES

THE PULSAR IS AUTO AND I AM SWAPING TO MANUAL.

Uhm not to be an ass, but I'd imagine it has more to do with the engine wiring harness sensors, and so on. Try plugging it in. As long as the injectors/MAF/Ignition are similar and it plugs up you'd be okay. I think if it plugs up all you may need to do is advance the timing a bit.

For me some check engine lights get a piece of duct tape on the dash board anyway.:)
