Uhm not to be an ass, but I'd imagine it has more to do with the engine wiring harness sensors, and so on. Try plugging it in. As long as the injectors/MAF/Ignition are similar and it plugs up you'd be okay. I think if it plugs up all you may need to do is advance the timing a bit.
For me some check engine lights get a piece of duct tape on the dash board anyway.
