Hi all,
Busted my door handle off, drove down to summitracing, bought a shaved door kit.
The instructions tell me I need "system power +12v 20amp (with in-line fuse), and two, SPDT relays wired at two points, with +12v 30 amps constant power." Also, that I need "- negative side supplied with batterty ground." Is this the battery directly? Can I, just tap into something around the fuse box?
Thanks very much,
jere

Ground the - side to a good clean piece of metal on the car...
the 30amp +12v constant power should be tapped in directly to the battery...
You can probably get away with 8-12ga wiring for that... any car stereo shop could help tell you what you need, call them and tell them what you are doing.

For that, you will want to run it directly off the battery. The current draw of that circuit will strain almost any circuit you tap it in to, so you would want to run a dedicated fused battery line specifically for the locks. If it were me, I'd use a 10 gauge power and ground and make sure you get some half decent relays also. You'd hate a cheap relay going bad to stop you from getting in your car at any given time.
