So Gents Question for ya.

On friday my motor decided that the rod knock would get real bad and cause me to setup for a replacement. Well took it to the shop and their going to drop a 35k miler in her ... My question is what should I be aware of when I go to pick up the car? ie. air, lights, heater?? kinda like a check list of important things to make sure work.. also is 1500 total installed a reasonable price for this job?

Thanks alot

1500 for eveything? hmm i guess thats not bad, i paid 650 for engine 100 for some parts and stuff and my own 2 hands for the SWAP, things 2 check for is to make sure the checkengine light doesnt come on, make sure the mechanic put fluids in it..sometimes people forget, it happend to my sisters car when she got a new tranny..they didnt put tranny fluid in it. Aslo make sure the guages work, speedomoter, RPm guage ETC.. and make sure you dont blare the radio when you first drive it, listen for axle noise (Caused when someone doesnt put axles in riht) Nails in Tires (Shops have a lot o nail and bolts
) Check all the hoses make sure everything is working right, and put it in reverse and have someone check your reverse lights! When i did my swap that as somehting i broke, the switch to the reverse lights its costing me 50 bucks! for something i could soulder up haha, well to answer your question, usually its the smallthings to look for. And also i would give it a littlebreak in time like 50 miles is all i gave mine.

Honestly I think it is. I would rather get a 10:1 mootor instead anyway. I don't trust local junkyard motors. God knows how they been taken care of. Rod knock, welcome to the club.

I hate rod knocks
. The only good thing that came out of my rod knock was that I got a JDM now and I love it. In my opinion if you are getting a motor swap you should invest in a JDM. I love the way my car is running it feels great !
