Hey everyone,
I am new to this sight and could use some advice and info. I am interested in purchasing a 96 200sx ser from a local dealer here in Jax, Fl. The car is green with power everything and 47k miles. What are some things I should look out for on the car? Anything that is a chronic problem on the older se-r? I'm coming from a 13.2 second dodge neon (nitrous powered) and am looking to get something that will be reliable, look and run good, and has great potential for being fixed up for shows and racing. Also anyone reccomend any good sights for performance products? Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm sure you'll hear a lot of things. But let me chime in a few basics:

http://www.jimwolftechnology.com - get an ECU ;) These guys put together some seriously good mods for SR20DE-powered cars. Cams, the best NOS setups for SR20DEs, clutches, etc)

http://www.placeracing.com (intakes)
http://www.hotshot.com (turbos, intakes, real good headers, etc)
http://www.stillen.com (supermarket for mods. ick)
http://www.f-max.com (amazing turbos)
http://www.dpr-racing.com (awesome engine upgrades)

Tons more, you just have to check the aftermarket list on se-r.net (http://se-r.net/mall/vendors.html)

Hope this helps as far as part sources are concerned. Long live the b13... :D

"Older SE-R?"

Har. :p My '92 is an "older" SE-R. 47k miles makes that '96 a spring chicken. Unless the car has been brutallized by the previous owner, it should have a lot of life in it.

If the price is right, go for it.
