hey guys, got a quick question maybe someone can help me out with,,, i just ordered an AEM injection kit for my B13, gonna install it and get it re-tuned when summer hits, i'd like to run it in my existing windshield resevoir but still undecided, what im trying to find out is the stuff you use "methyl hydrate" and water mix, is it paint safe? like for example if i kept my squirters hooked up and used the washer resevoir and i happen to hit the wipers/squirters by accident...how safe is that **** or does it just destroy paint/clear coat on contact? im trying to avoid using the provided tank and running a boost line/meth line all the way to my trunk, but if this is not paint safe kinda stuff then ill be forced to do it, i mean i guess i could just unhook the window squirters i never use them anyways...i figured then i could use the existing "low washer level" on the dash and i would know when its getting low without looking and wiring the AEM level indicator in, any body currently using this? any help would be appreciated thanks guys

methyl hydrate is methanol, it's safe to use as washer fluid. Though I wouldn't spray more than a 50/50 mix with water, because the chance of paint or other damage (fire hazard).

Methanol is what's already in blue washer fluid as an anti-freeze, I personally use -20 degree washer fluid for my water spray (which has a close to 50/50 mix).
In my opinion, you should use it correctly, I think that an improper user of it could blow your engine because of all the knock that you'll be getting due to the high boost (other wise, why using it?)...

Watter/alcohol inyection can turn your 91 oct fuel into a 109 oct fuel, lower your intake temps, so, less chance for knocks..I can be activates by boost switch, microswitch and wahatever comes to your mind, boost activated is better, that way you don't have to worry about pushing the button when the boost/knocks starts..

Do a search arround the forums, you'll find very interesting info about those kits..
i had a cooling mist progressive kit on my nx, the boost feels alot better. like he said before run it like its supposed to be run. and invest in a progressive controller
Whats wrong with you guys all he wants to do thats different from the kit instructions is to run it from his windshield washer fluid bottle instead of putting the tank in the trunk and running the lines all the way to the firewall. I have seen a lot of people do it the way he wants to. Very Sleeper looking :)

I don't see nothing wrong with that, but, what's the windshield washer capacity? i don't know how much will he be using the alcohol, but I bet that the alcohol kit tank it's much bigger than the windshield washer tank, other than that, just unplug the windshield stock pump (in case of accidentall activation) and rock and roll..

thank you someone who understands the question...the windshield washer capacity is what 4 litres? same as the "small" tank that comes with most standard kits lol...im trying to keep it sleeper/not run a boost line 10 feet to the back of the car and the sprayer nozzle line as well,..

if i unplug the stock motor will i still get the "low washer level" indicator on my dash? prob not right? i was looking to use the existing level sensor then i dont have to run AEM's, plus i will obviously stay on top of the level in the tank...i realize i have to use a 50/50 mix...i did not realize the windshield washer with -20 rating was basically 50/50, so essentially if i use washer fluid(which i did not know you can use) then i wont be worried about harming my paint?
o yeah and i dont see how you guys telling me to "use it correctly" of course im gonna use it for its purpose otherwise what am i installing it for? all i was originally asking was if i could get away with plumbing it in that way, i mean shti i could bolt the tank to the top of my roof if i wanted it has nothing to do with the "way i am using it correctly"

my dyno guy is the one who suggested run it in the stock tank to begin with to keep my "sleeper" appeal of my ride, just wanted to consult with fellow forum mebers *** you guys are always helpful and curious on others injection setups, thanks for the people who read the question, im obviously gonna retune on the dyno to account for the"higher octane" so i dont detonate, i mean isnt that what you are supposed to do lol
