Ok this isnt a "what belt do I get" question. That seems to be well answered by searching previous posts. I have boughten the 4 groove NON-AC alternator belt (part no. 325K4) since I have the stock pulley, and not the UR pulley.

My question is, does it matter if you put the 4 groove belt on the inside or outside of the 6 groove pulley?

RUTH'LESS NX2K installed it on the inside, yet

SmoothDaddyFig installed his on the outside.

My guess is that it doesnt matter, but just wondering if anyone has had problems one way over the other?

Shouldn't matter...what i did was i got the 6-ribbed belt so there would be no confusion :)
Thanks. Just for curiousity, do you have (or can you get) the part number of a 6 ribbed belt that will fit? This is not in the archive and I may need to get one anyway...

(car is at the shop... dont ask me why I didnt do it myself, Im paying out of the ass for them to do the work since Im rushed for time before the next road racing event in AZ. Mechanics look at this saying "uh 4 ribs, 6 ribs... thats like 10 ribs different or something dur... uh... yeah". So I had to provide the "custom belt" for them, haha)

Thanks for looking tonight at least (forgot its dark over on the east coast already). If you could check sometime this weekend, I would be very thankful (and would be nice to have for the archives Im sure). Assuming the distance is the same, Im guessing its 32.5 inches

Thanks again for looking though.

Just for anyone searching, here is the exact part number that is on the belt itself. (I had to cut my alternator belt after it siezed up on me, since I didnt have any tools to losen it off with).

4PK0825 and 325K4

$8 at Pep Boys.

325k4 belt means it is 32.5 inchel long with four ribs.....
Need a 6 rib? Change the last number to six and viola its a six rib.
Need it an inch shorter? Change the first three numbers to 315 and viola an inch shorter....
